About the adventure
When a simple quest spirals into a city-spanning adventure, your group will need to perform a series of heists with the goal of finding a stash of 500,000 gold pieces! We'll be doing Waterdeep Dragon Heist which will take us up to level 5, and then a highly modified Mad Mage to take us to 20. Throughout there will be material adapted from Golden Vault and Radiant Citadel. The idea is to have a fun game about 1/3 combat, 1/3 investigation and 1/3 roleplaying. We won't be rushing through this and I plan to add about 3 module's worth of extra content / segways into the campaign beyond what's in the source material. I max out the games at 5 players to make sure everyone gets their fair share of the spotlight. Sessions are three hours long, give or take 15 minutes. We want all five players, but will play as long as we have 3. I have another group running this module and they're having a blast! This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $13.33 per session. Sessions 0 and 1 both free.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm Brian, your future DM! I'm a new DM, having gotten into D&D this year, but I'm obsessed! So why should you choose me? Well, I limit myself to only 4 games a week, only 5 players per game, and I spend lots of time preparing. My high prep time to player ratio helps me to make sure the story is fleshed out and player backgrounds are integrated into the story. Beyond all that though, I truly care about making sure each player has a good time and will do whatever I can to ensure that.

Creating your character
Characters start at level 1. Any official character options are allowed (even Plasmoids!). I will work with custom backgrounds and half-species (Half dwarf, half goliath? Cool!). We'll use standard array for stats (8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15). Characters must be created in the Roll20 system so I can see everything in game. If you can, it is suggested you have a good idea of what your character will be, but we will be taking time during Session 0 to create characters. Although having a detailed bio is important, that part will be due Session 1. Character artwork is also due Session 1.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please read the Player Handbook ahead of time. If you can't, reach out to me. Make sure you have a Discord and Roll20 account. Please have a decent mic in a quiet area. Do your best to come in with a fairly clear idea of what character you want to be. A picture of your character is due Session 1.
What Brian B brings to the table
I bring Handbook materials and a pro account in Roll20, official materials from several modules, and my own smiling self!

How Brian B creates a safe table
Players can expect a pretty even mix between combat, investigation and roleplay. There will be a strong emphasis on heists. We will play almost entirely rules as written, but with common sense allowed. Encounters will be balanced to the party, not the other way around. If we're light on heals, for example, I'll take that into account. Breaks can be requested at any time, and during Session 0 we'll discuss what is and isn't appropriate.
