About me

I love playing all sorts of new characters, puzzles, goofy and funny scenarios, storytelling, voice and character acting. I run Beginner and Intro to D&D events and one shots at a local game shop to help teach brand-new players how to play. Also have experience running campaigns and other activities. I love teaching and welcoming new players to the game, and am eager to make sure each player has plenty of time to do something fun, silly, or epic in their session. Very comfortable with new players, and have DM'd for people of ALL ages, including multigenerational parent/child duos! I am always looking to improve and eager for feedback - and send out an anonymous Google Form at the end of every session. Past One Shots & Campaigns I've Run Include * Waterdeep Dragon Heist Campaign * Prisoner 13 * Waterdeep Kitten Rescue * A Wild Sheep Chase * The Curse of Fate * A Most Potent Brew * Swallowed! An Escape Room Adventure * Shore of Dreams Gaming backgrounds & other hobbies before D&D: Rocket League, Dominion, drawing, backpacking, cooking, yoga, political advocacy, gardening, and more

Character creation

Creating your character

Bring a Level 2 character from 5e. Content from Player's Handbook and Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide is welcome, any exceptions outside of that, please check with the GM to confirm. You're welcome to bring characters you've played in previous one-shots, including items.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Show up in person at Mom's Basement Games in Howell Michigan. We'll start at 630pm sharp, so I strongly recommend getting there around 6:15 to get checked in up front, grab a seat, pick out a mini to play as, etc... We'll do character and personal introductions before we dive into the adventure.

What David brings to the table
