About the adventure
A veil of darkness smothers the land, turning people to ash. A great pestilence, a curse devoid of reason or end, ravages the countryside; transforming the people and animals into mindless monsters, whose single-minded goal is your blood. Danger, death, and madness lurk around every corner of this dark and horrific world, and you must discover its darkest secrets in order to survive. Werewolves, vampires, and darker entities now roam at night, but they are the least of your concern. Will you navigate through the political intrigue of a city drenched in the corruption of vying Mafias, corrupt politicians, and decadent nobles? Uncover the truths hidden behind the curtains of lies and deceit of powerful organizations? Will you take up arms with the sworn hunters and survive the long nights to come? Or will you falter, succumb to the darkness, and fall prey to the world? Welcome to Barovia... We will see if you survive. Welcome to my alternative take on Curse of Strahd, taking inspiration from Bloodborne and authors like Robert W. Chambers and Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of Bloodborne. It also takes inspiration from the 1900s, especially the prohibition era and the era of mobsters. The industrial age has flourished within this world, making way for technology like firearms, steam engines, and even the earliest forms of electricity have developed. This game will be a heavily altered world of Curse of Strahd. Those familiar with the module will see many familiar faces and key locations, but a lot of it has been changed to fit this vision.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen during session zero and the week leading up to session one. Session zero will provide groundwork and a chance for everyone to work both together and one on one with me to create your character concept. I offer premade characters as an option for people who would like them.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need: A d&d beyond account, a Roll20 account, a World Anvil account, and a discord account. All three of these are free and do not require any additional money investment. It is not necessary to have these before session zero, save for the discord account, but you will need them before session one starts. We do not use webcams, but you will need a microphone of some quality to communicate during session. We will be using discord for all sessions. Discord Link: https://discord.gg/PxtXtSJYfy
What William F. brings to the table
I will be bringing battlemaps on Roll 20, a majority of official content on d&d beyond, my worlds lore neatly organized on World Anvil, and a wide arrangement of complimentary background music during sessions. I will also be bringing nearly a decade of knowledge on ttrpgs, time between sessions to talk about both character and noncharacter related content, love and passion for d&d, and a safe and inclusive space for both veterans and beginners alike.

How William F. creates a safe table
During session zero we will be discussing everything. The world I am bringing, the type of content I am brining, what to expect both during and in-between sessions, and everything you will need to have a fun and engaging time. During session zero we will go over each of the safety tools available to players. Lines and veils will be discussed and documented, along side potential triggers using the Luxon Technique Discussion. During sessions you are always encouraged to go above table to talk about potential triggering events or events that might lead to conflict. Each session will be roughly about three hours long of gameplay with an additional half an hour taken as breaks to help break things up and allow time to discuss what is going on, if something needs to be changed, etc... They will also serve as bathroom breaks, breaks to get food and water, and to take care of anything that you need to. These thirty minutes are split into two 15-minute breaks that occur at the beginning and in the middle of each session. In addition at the end of each session, the ability to have an open conversation is always there for both players and I alike to talk about what has happened, to check in on each other, and make sure everyone had a fun and enjoyable time.
