About the adventure

β˜€οΈ Save the Dawnfather, Pelor! πŸ“… Bi-weekly game schedule πŸ’₯ Tier 3 & 4 gameplay, running from levels 12 through 20! βš”οΈ Face off against unique bosses and encounters, use your wits and teamwork to survive! 🏰 Explore multiple cities made famous in the Critical Role livestream! πŸ§‘πŸΏβ€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘πŸ» Interact with Dynamic NPCs; each with backstories, intrigue, and secrets! It’s the year 836 Post-Divergence, and the Dawnfather Pelor is exhibiting uncharacteristic behavior. As a sun god, he is the enemy of the undead and the author of life through his gifts. He is also a god of Strength, for he advocates that the weak must be protected by those capable. However, recent revelations have given rise to a sect of thought (some label it an outright heresy) that Pelor may not be what he claims to be. This Cult of the Burning Hate is led by a man who calls himself the Grand Theurge, a smug, self-righteous priest cast out of Pelor’s church for heresy. Seeking to destroy the church of Pelor as retribution for his excommunication, it is rumored that he is somehow transforming Pelor into a deity of evil; and rumors spread with fear that the divine connection from all of Pelor’s current followers will be severed as their god is destroyed and reborn... Reaching out to adventurers they know have saved Exandria in the past, the Cobalt Soul seeks to investigate these occurrences, rumors, and the cult itself to bring the truth to light. Will you save Pelor from transforming to a sun that does not give life, but one that destroys it? Or will the sun god forever be transformed into one of skin cancer, sun burns, thirst, and burning agony?

Recruiting notes

Hello! We still have one available seat for our next session, and are playing Bi-Weekly! New characters are now coming in at Level 16! Following rumors of strange occurrences tired to Pelor, the party must decide which incidents take precedent, lest a doom soon fall upon Exandria as the sun's flames burn evermore with overwhelming radiance... At present, our heroes have defeated a small influx of Vampires in Kraghammer, and uncovered a plot in conjunction with an unorthodox cult of Pelor to replace the Ironkeeper of Kraghammer. Its a race to save the kingdom within the fortnight as dangers arise from within the political intrigue.

What I provide

- Battlemaps, bad puns, and an array of sound effects. - 16 years of DM'ing experience! - Everything needed to make playing the game a breeze, and make your characters awesome. - I will have all sourcebooks ready to reference; and all prepared characters will have functional sheets in roll20 (with click-macro rolls enabled on the sheet)

Gameplay details

This adventure will be played via Roll20, with Discord for Voice. Content Warnings: Monsters, Cave-ins, Sensory Deprivation, Religious topics including sin, damnation, etc This is a PG13-rated adventure. Though the content is scaled for difficulty and designed to be challenging and there is always the chance of character death, nothing is intended to be overly-cruel or cause instant death. As a means to call for safety pauses and holds, I will have a Safety Card token available to anonymously Drop on the Map at any point. If a player is uncomfortable with the content for any reason (including phobias, PTSD, and/or many more), Drag and Drop it into the map at any time for a safety pause. While this will not prevent a character death if it happens, I am 100% okay with flash-forwarding past a bad moment for you if need be!

How will character creation work

* A majority of players will be continuing from Call of the Netherdeep, but we still still have a Session 0 as some are building new characters. We'll use this time to ensure that the party is in communication on tactics and planning, and to help those less familiar with higher level play ease into the game! * Starting Level: All players start at Level 12. You may create a character sheet either on D&D Beyond, or within Roll20! * Ability Scores: Determine ability scores using 27 Point-Buy! * The character customization options introduced in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything to alter racial ability scores are allowed. * Optional Class Features (such as Favored Foe for Ranger) from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything are allowed. * In addition to class and background starting equipment, please also take 10,000 gold to spend on additional gear, potions, etc. You may purchase any magic items that are Very Rare or under with these funds, utilizing the prices from this list: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8XAiXpOfz9cMWt1RTBicmpmUDg/view?usp=sharing - - - - - - Goals for Session 0: * Character Creation review - We'll go through the Character Creation Steps together; two players are carrying characters over from Netherdeep - three players are rolling new characters and this will be a good chance to make sure everyone has their choices solidified (and it's a chance to change anything up before we begin gameplay). * Safety Talk - I'll explain the uses and functions of our Safety Cards, Additionally, we can discuss Lines & Veils, Hard Limits, and anything else we want to bring up to keep everyone safe at the table! * Establish the Party - Confirm party roles, starting equipment, etc. - Confirm and discuss connections between characters (This is a fun exercise I that I picked up in Monster of the Week, and it's a good chance to get some preemptive character relations started) * Roll some dice! We'll get the dice rolling and characters in use with any remaining time!!!
