New Players Welcome! | Pathfinder 2e - Gatewalkers
Pathfinder 2e | Campaign
About the adventure
Pathfinder: Gatewalkers is an adventure path for four players designed for play between levels 1 and 10. This campaign is episodic and inviting to concepts of nearly any variety with downtime added for roleplay opportunity and character story progression. Players take on the role of four characters who experienced something otherworldly - when a mysterious portal opened before them, they saw something they couldn't resist. A person, an object, a place. Whatever it was that tempted them, they went through six months ago. And they returned three months ago with no memory of what happened, no explanation for their new scars, changed hair, or other unusual change. In addition, they each discovered they had a marking on them, just as every other person who walked through and returned from a gate. This adventure path tells the story of the players working together to uncover the mysteries of their missing moments, to discover more about themselves and their new mutations. Spanning a vast number of places, players explore much of Golarians terrains and locales. Teamwork, instincts, and determination will be needed for these heros to survive what awaits them.
A free Session 0 is scheduled for September 21st, 10PM CST. This game is currently scheduled to start and consistently run every Saturday evening, from 10PM to 2AM CST. --- The gate is open - step through it, if you dare. The Gatewalkers spins a tale of paranormal intrigue, supernatural mysteries, and bizarre phenomena. As a player in this campaign, you’ll explore far-flung places, investigate strange goings-on, and meet all manner of outlandish allies and enigmatic enemies. --- This campaign is designed for 4 or 5 players who all start at level 1. We will be using the Free Archetype rules, giving you additional feats to choose from to further customize your character. There is no permadeath without player agreement. This campaign is intended for players of any skill and experience level, including people who have never played Pathfinder 2e before.

Gavin was the best possible first DM I could have had. I started the day scared that I wasn’t going to play well, but because of Gavin’s encouragement and eagerness to help me participate and have fun, I came away feeling like I had contributed valuable storytelling and a cool battle scene. Something that made an impression that day is how affirming and rewarding of creativity Gavin is, things that characterize every session with him. Additionally, Gavin is super respectful and affirming of queer identities. I came out as trans in the middle of my first campaign, and he showed me the same endless respect that he does to everyone (as well as showing me how to change my display name). He is a very talented DM and someone who makes you feel good about yourself.
Gavin has set the standard for what I expect from a GM/DM. Patient, kind, knowledgeable, dedicated to his craft as a story teller and making sure his players have a good time. I have enjoyed every game he’s run for me and it’s his work that has inspired me to attempt running my own games. I cannot recommend Gavin enough to those looking for a DM.
I'm a completely new player and Gavin has made this the easiest learning experience. He explains everything I need is constantly checking in with no judgement. As a person who struggles being creative he takes his leadership seriously and makes the experience flow. He does so much work to keep us happy in our playing environment. Truly Magical
I’ve been able to experience a campaign with Gavin as the GM in which most, if not, all were very green players when it came to TTRPGs. His ability to be so patient with all our questions and curiosities is something difficult to find in this community. Gavin delivers a story with character, intrigue and pure fun. He takes the time to make sure everyone involved is comfortable with all aspects of the game and brings along with this his top notch story telling and voice acting. As a GM, Gavin really allows his players to move at whatever pace they’d like and makes great decisions when it comes to getting us back on track. Overall, I have had one of the best times playing a TTRPG I’ve ever had with this GM. I hope to continue playing at his table for as long as I’m able!
Gavin is by far my favorite GM I've worked with to date. I've played role playing games for several years and have even run some of my own. The way Gavin runs his games inspired me to take some of his methods and mechanics into my games as well. Gavin is incredibly accommodating to player requests and extremely knowledgeable in practically all facets. As a fellow GM I'm supremely impressed with the amount of knowledge this guy just has in his head. 10/10 I hope our campaign never ends.
Gavin has a voice for every NPC, and he 100% commits to that character when roleplaying. While he plans ahead for each session, he improvises well when the party decides to take on a wild side mission that has nothing to do with the story he's set up for (which my party has done on more than one occasion). Our party is a mix of experienced players and first time players, and he does a great job of ensuring everyone is heard and engaged. He follows boundaries of all the players well. He is an expert in the mechanics of the different systems, but he's also flexible with custom builds. I highly recommend Gavin Runs Games as your next Game Master.

How will character creation work
Character Creation will happen at Session 0. Pre-written characters can be provided and a custom character can be created on request. Players are not expected to arrive with a fully completed character sheet. Players are suggested to come to Session 0 with a concept or reference from media, and to come to Session 1 with an image reference for use as a token. Player characters will benefit from the Free Archetype optional rules. Character suggestions are found in the Gatewalkers Player's Guide pdf provided by Paizo and available for download from Paizo and the Discord. Characters with Elven or Half-Elf ancestries will be required to be trained in either Deception or Stealth. If a player joins a campaign after Session 0, a new Session 0 will be organized for the benefit of the party and that player's character will join at the same effective rating as the existing player characters.
