About the adventure

Unrest stirs in the heart of the Serin Republic, whispers of a Rebellion can be heard among the workers in the Outer Wards of Aldrein. Stories of bloodshed, and a man known only as "The Jackal" attempting to seize control of the ruined fortress of Ironport, far to the west along the southern coast of the Arak Wildlands. In the north, the noble warriors of Clan Daour fend off attacks from wyrms and men alike, holding true to their ancient oaths to protect the people of the land from the horrors that lurk in the frigid Wyrmspine. In the east a fell mist cloaks the forests of the Gray Shore. In the cloying ruins of Tir'Anoch the once proud elven people eek out a meager existence, fleeing from the dead that stalk the forests they have called home for as long as they can remember. The Sundered Veil is a high fantasy campaign set in the world of Alist'Horan. It is a world devoid of Gods, though powerful mortal Archons wield power far beyond that of even the greatest archmage. Many clerics draw their power by followers one of the Archons, though others place their faith into the Guardians - four titanic beasts bound body and soul to the realms that lie beyond the veil. Unlike the Archons the Guardians cannot be killed, yet their power is limited outside of their own domains. The campaign uses a set of unique homebrew mechanics, ranging from a new take on Humans, Elves, and Dwarves, to the horned heads and stone hides of the towering Joren, and the diminutive but fearsome Val with their catlike eyes, and razor sharp claws. Rarely others are born as well, those whose flesh bears the marks of the Four Realms that lie beyond the Veil. These individuals are gifted with great power from birth, though they are often feared. Of course, we cannot forget the Soulforged, the legacy left by the Dwarves of Ban Graeras, a fallen civilization beneath the sands of the Arak Wildlands. Little is known of their origins, though many have sought to unravel the secrets of their creation. Rarer still are those whose Souls are marked so strongly that it affects their very flesh, such as those afflicted with the Sign of the Maw, or the of the Beastsblood.

How will character creation work

Player characters will start at level 3. We will be using 27 Point Buy. Racial options will be limited to fit the setting (Ie, Humans, elves, dwarves, goliaths, goblins, genasi, and a myriad of beast races. All officially released classes and archetypes are allowed. I will personally speak to every player to ensure their experience building a character goes smoothly, and that the characters are a good fit both for the party overall, and the setting.
