About the adventure

You're attending a Ghostbusters recruitment seminar at the original firehouse in Lower Manhattan, hoping to be one of the chosen few to join the ranks of the legendary team. Before the presentation begins, a surge of psychokinetic energy rocks the building. The lights flicker, and the air hums with a palpable charge. Frantic calls pour in as ghosts materialize all over the lower east side. The local team is already stretched thin, so it's up to you and your fellow recruits to step up and save the day! As you work to contain the ghosts, you'll encounter a cast of colorful characters (both living and dead). Some civilians may help you, while others might be worse than the ghosts you'll face. But with the fate of the city hanging in the balance, you'll need to work together as a team to get the ghosts contained before the problem spreads. With an action-packed storyline, plenty of humor, and the chance to bust some ghosts in the Big Apple, this adventure is perfect for seasoned tabletop gamers and those new to RPGs. So grab your proton pack, join the team, and show the world that you ain't afraid of no ghost! 👻 Experience the ultimate "workplace comedy" set in the world of Ghostbusters. 🥽 Solve spooky mysteries with the power of friendship and nuclear accelerators. 🩻 Confront the forces of darkness, trap 'em in a box, and collect your paycheck. 🤝 Flirt with clients and stick it to “The Man” – all in the name of science.

About me

I am a writer and narrative designer who creates compelling experiences for games and interactive stories of all kinds. I believe that storytelling is a universal and ancient human tradition that can provide a connection to our past, guidance for our present, and possibilities for our future. I am also a published author and an award-winning independent filmmaker. In 2012, I updated the out-of-print Ghostbusters tabletop role-playing game for a new generation of players, and used it to create the actual play podcast "Ghostbusters: Resurrection." When I'm not running games, I create podcasts, audio dramas, and screenplays for film and television.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will create characters during Session Zero. Digital character sheets will be provided and are *very* simple to fill out. We will also go over any content preferences, restrictions, or concerns.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please have a working microphone, a reliable internet connection, and an account on Discord. Webcams are strongly encouraged, but not required. Do what you can to avoid distractions or loud noises that might disrupt the game for other players. If you prefer to use real dice, you will need a set of several D6s.

What Doug brings to the table

I will provide digital character sheets (that can be printed), digital equipment cards (can also be printed), visual aids, some music/effects, and a link to a digital dice roller.

Safety

How Doug creates a safe table

In Session Zero, we'll begin by discussing the tone and type of game you'd like to play. We'll go over any safety protocols you're comfortable with (like Lines, Veils, or Aftercare) and go through character creation. After everyone is ready, we'll schedule a day and time for the official start of the game.
