About the adventure
A 4th level adventure published for 5e in Ghosts of Saltmarsh, "Salvage Operation" tasks players with investigating a derelict ship lost on the waves for decades. As they delve deeper into its lightless interior, the party discovers that the ship isn't quite as lifeless as it first seemed! Expect a spooky dungeon-crawl that rapidly picks up in pace before reaching an explosive finale. This adventure is deadly, dynamic, and damn-good fun.

About me
Greetings, traveler, and welcome to my lair! (cue maniacal laughter) I'm a published fiction writer who has been running D&D 5e for five years, and I'm looking forward to playing together! Most of what I run publicly on StartPlaying will be one-shot adventures, but feel free to reach out to me directly if you have interest in a campaign. I'm willing to acquire any of D&D 5e's prewritten materials to run for you, or we can talk about a homebrew game if you have something unique in mind! See you at the game table!

Creating your character
Characters will be level 4, created using official D&D 5e material. Players should come prepared with characters they have made ahead of time, preferably with a PDF of their character sheet or a link to a D&D Beyond sheet. Stats may be determined using any of the three official systems (standard array, point buy, or rolling). Note that if you choose to roll, please commit to your first set of rolls for your character. Honor system applies here! Note that homebrew, the lucky feat, and player species that can fly or are larger than medium size are banned. Most other official material is acceptable, though players can reach out ahead of time if they need anything approved. Players should send me character portraits ahead of time so I can make virtual tokens before the game starts.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Create a 4th level character using official 5e material. Make sure you have a Discord account with a reliable microphone and internet. Connect to the virtual tabletop via a Roll20 account and the link I send out. Note that we will only be using this site for visuals, not audio or character sheets. Please send me a portrait of your character ahead of the game so I can make a virtual token for your character. These pictures may be original or borrowed from the internet at your discretion.

How Kevin Helock creates a safe table
Expect a careful dungeon crawl at the start of the adventure, which builds in tempo as the adventure continues. I encourage roleplay, but for most of this adventure descriptions of your character's actions will suffice if you are not comfortable being in character. The game will be run using a full map on Roll20 brought to life over a Discord voice channel.
