About the adventure

You will be taught how to play D&D through this campaign! Getting started is as easy as booking a seat in the game and reading the Prep Materials. "The frost of this season refuses to release our homes from it's icy grasp. The winds bite at our skin, glacial ice obstructs the sea, and our crops are all but destroyed. It has been months with no relief! We beg you, find the source of this otherworldly freeze. Its a matter of life or death!" Hell has frozen over in Skalbjorg, and the rime shows no mercy. Put on something warm, for this chilling adventure features: 🥶Fatal sub-zero temperatures and blinding snowstorms. 🐺Vicious tundra beasts, desperate for a meal. 🔎Unsolved disappearances and brutal murders. 💀Incriminating rumors and mass hysteria. Your party has traveled for days, escorting a provisions wagon to the coastal village of Skalbjorg. Psychosis and dread has struck much of the populous, who question their chances of survival, as well as the loyalty of their neighbors and family. Experience the intrigue and paranoia for yourself as you Investigate the plight of the townsfolk and uncover the truth behind the Eternal Chill. This setting is designed for new and beginner D&D 5e players. Adventurers progress from levels 1-5, with the length of the campaign taking approximately 3-4 sessions to complete. Try your best to stave off the cold from your aching bones! Fight to survive in a town on the verge of total delusion! Bargain, question, and interrogate your way to an answer for this madness! Can you keep a cool head, or will you too submit to fear?

About me

Greetings, adventurers! My names Kevin, and together we will embark on a quest to experience the magic of tabletop roleplaying games. I aim to use over half a decade of worldbuilding, improvisation, and collaborative storytelling experience to immerse you in a fantasy world of my own design. Here, I can help new players create and flesh out characters which will be fully assimilated into the story we craft as a group. With so many moving parts, there are so many ways in which our tale can end. I pride myself on my improvisational work to keep the story flowing, and the good times rolling. While running a cohesive and enticing campaign is part of my job, my true goal is to make sure my players have enjoyed themselves with the time we shared at the table, and nothing brings a bigger smile to my face than knowing my table is having fun. So please, join me as I begin a new page in my Game Master journey. I'm sure it will be one we will talk about for years to come. My table is LGBTQ+ friendly and is welcoming of everyone, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players are encouraged to create their own characters, and can do so either in the Roll20 app itself, or on DnDBeyond using the Beyond20 chrome/firefox extension.

The current party

This game is for new/beginner players and will start at Level 1. • Pre-Generated Characters are available on request! • Game Starts with 4+ players! • Session 0 starting soon!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Having Discord and a Microphone are required for the session, while webcams are optional. I'll have one up, though! Players are required to make a FREE Roll20 account to join the game, where I can then assist in character creation if needed. If you have a character on D&D Beyond, you can use the chrome extension Beyond20 to play. We will be using characters at LEVEL 1 for this campaign! The game will be played on Roll20, while using a discord server for music and voice chat. Invite links to both the Roll20 game and the server will be provided! Other than the Beyond20 chrome extension, no external items are required. This means all dice rolls will be made in Roll20!

What Kevin brings to the table

I have created multiple scenes and maps using the program Inkarnate Pro, and these maps will be imported into a playable campaign on the website Roll20. I also have a Roll20 Plus subscription along with the virtual Player's Handbook, meaning all the tools required to create a standard race character in Roll20 are available to you. Additionally, a discord server will also be available to join if you are interested in participating in character roleplay with other players out of session!

Safety

How Kevin creates a safe table

I like to incorporate equal parts combat and roleplay into my games, giving players of any class or background the opportunity to excel and further the story. Doing so ensures that new players can sample a little bit of everything D&D has to offer within our sessions! I have zero tolerance for any sort of homophobia, transphobia, or discrimination directed towards anyone at my table. These sessions are a safe-space for all walks of life, and are meant to be a fun social gathering. If this is an issue, then I might not be the best choice of GM for you. We will take a brief (15 minutes or so) break halfway through the game to keep everyone focused and alert for the final half. Debriefing will be a voluntary discussion at the end of the session to discuss what players may have enjoyed, or what they would have liked to see more of. This is more for me, so I can tailor future sessions towards my players!
