About the adventure
A giant robot is smashing down Main Street. Your best friend tried to kiss you. Your mom thinks your grades need work. Your mentor thinks your team is bringing you down. Oh, and your costume is ripped. Just another day in Halcyon City... Masks: A New Generation is a superhero tabletop roleplaying game full of action, youthful angst, and dazzling bravery. Take on the roles of members of the latest generation of superheroes, young adults trying to figure out who they are and what kind of heroes they want to be. Masks makes use of the same rules-light engine as Apocalypse World, Monsterhearts, Dungeon World, Urban Shadows, and Epyllion to create stories about young superheroes in the vein of Young Justice, Young Avengers, and Teen Titans. The story so far... With just a single flash of light the greatest superhero team that Halcyon City has ever known has vanished. Villains are rising up to seize control of the city. Doctor Proteus, Mister Mayhem, The Kookaburra, The Broker (the clown prince of the stock market) and the League of Evil Dentists are all vying to take control of the city. Only you and your rag tag group of teenage superheroes can stop them... as long as it doesn't happen on Thursday. You've got a math test on Thursday.
This is a campaign of Masks:A New Generation. It is heavy role play with a lot of big action sprinkled in. If you have ever wanted teenage superheroes action with all the drama that entails...this is your game. It is very rules light and everything you need will be included in the first session. LGBTQ friendly.

How to prepare
They will need discord. I will send them a copy of the character playbooks and the basic moves. Masks is a very rules light game but looking over these playbooks will be helpful. They will need some way to roll 2d6 dice.

How will character creation work
Players will be sent a group of "playbooks" from which they can choose their character type. (Are you a Nova who blows things, a Protege who follows a mentor etc...?) I will then work with the player to put the finishing touches on the character. Then at session zero we will discuss how the characters met and what their relationships are.
