About the adventure
Set in a bleak supernatural version of modern day Pittsburgh, this game will explore topics of healing from trauma, recovery, and the difficulty of surviving in a hostile world. Having escaped from their imprisonment in the world of Faerie, the player characters now find themselves adrift in a world that has moved on without them. Their disappearance has been forgotten or covered up, and they have been changed so much by their ordeals that they can no longer fit into the place they left behind. Now, it falls to them to forge onward, carving out a new place for themselves and deciding for themselves how they want to live. This game will use the Changeling: the Lost (2nd edition) rules and take place entirely using text.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi! I'm an experienced GM branching out into paid GMing. I mostly run higher-stakes, higher-power games, and they often include darker or more mature themes. I view roleplaying as being a collaborative storytelling activity, a sort of shared conversation about a fiction which serves to explore characters and stories in a compelling and unique way. My games tend to be a bit lower on combat than some (it's present, but there are almost always ways around it) and have a higher degree of focus on character and story arcs than on mechanics.

I've probably played with forty, fifty different GMs at this point? Autumn is the best I know at making character motivations and background an important part of events, and then using them to create very hard decisions. My go-to for horror themes, believable NPCs, and a responsible, trauma-informed approach to difficult subjects. The more weight you put on character development, the more you're going to love her. Perfect environments and timing for tense drama.
She's a great GM, her strengths are in providing fascinating and heavily researched conundrums for her players, with well written and complex situations. She's very good with player communication and I've had no issues communicating and quickly resolving any issues I've had in her games.
I'm a long-time player in Autumn's games, to the point where my expectations of other GMs might be a little high. She brings the best parts of a good game to the fore- NPCs are fun to talk with and make sensible decisions based on their personal motivations and knowledge, the world feels thought-out and consistent, and problems can be approached from different angles. The pacing flows between high intensity and breathers, with both good challenges and interesting characters. Excellent GM for any game with a more serious tone.

What Autumn brings to the table
I will bring an expansive vision of the city of Pittsburgh, seen from the eyes of a local. Additionally, I bring experience in writing a compelling story, and creating characters who are responsive and unique.

Safety
How Autumn creates a safe table
This game is likely to feature the following content: Child abduction, imprisonment, torture, trauma, mental illness, mind control, uncertainty of what is real. The primary safety tool used in this game will be lines and veils. Each player will be asked for their lines (content that will not be included at all) and veils (content that can be included but not described in detail) before beginning play. Additionally, any player may ask for a scene to stop or be skimmed over at any point without needing to cite a reason.
