Hello weary traveler and welcome! Bring food, drink, and an endless imagination. My name is Connor Hutchison, but everyone call's me HUTCH. I will be you DM, your GM, friend, foe, helping hand, and arch nemesis. For the last four years I have been perfecting my craft of becoming a D&D game master and now I extend an invitation to all who wish to join in my adventure and experience the world of LLYRIA. A world of my own creation, from the highest mountain to the lowest dungeon and every general store or tavern in between. A world of endless possibilities, not a campaign laid in front of you, but a story ready to be told and shared with all of those who join. Live through your characters and create your own story, but be careful, for some of your choices may have serious consequences! So my friend, are you in? I am a 28 year old Male living in Minnesota with my dog Neo. She is a 3 year old husky mix who will make frequent appearances in the background of my web-cam. My D&D experience started in High school with my dads D&D group playing 4e. My memory of these games has faded, but the joy that they brought has fueled my love for the game ever since. During college my friends and I had an on and off 3.5e group that usually turned into a drinking frenzy and heavy RP game most of which I also don't remember. After college I started writing and creating Tales of Llyria. My own homebrew world, heavily influenced by genres and stories of my childhood. I ran an in person campaign for about half a year with my friends that slowly fizzled out. And a 1.5 year long complete campaign online through Talepsire with an awesome group of players. After that I went on the search to join a game as a player and helped create the DM’s guild. A group of 5 DM’s who take turns running 6-8 episode long stories all tied into the same world. While playing in these games I have been writing and creating my new story, Mirrodin. Which I now feel is ready to be played and am looking for players like yourself to join. During the daytime you will find me working my corporate office job from 8-4 which provides me the funds necessary to pursue my hobbies. Some of my current hobbies include D&D (obviously), FPS games, board games (I have a fairly successful start on a board game shelf), and of course spending time with Neo and her never ending supply of energy.

GM Style

I have 5 philosophies while running games. My number one rule that I always stick to is the rule of cool. This sometimes means forgoing the rules and letting the players achieve something with their character that may be out of the normal realm of possibility, but their enjoyment and character development may greatly benefit from. My second philosophy is to let the dice determine the outcome. If someone is trying to do something unusual or I am uncertain which choice to make, the dice will decide our fate. Third philosophy and something I am ever expanding on is implementing rules in a learn and efficient way. Keeping the pace of the game moving and using the rules as more of a guideline and not scripture. Fourth would be using "no, but" or "yes, and" during improvisation moments to maintain order but also let the characters make their own choices. Lastly would be my own self fulfillment. It brings me great joy to tell my stories and experience them with others. I love getting into character, taking on different personalities and voices and expressing myself in new ways. Leading the group through triumph and defeat with a few exciting plot twists along the way.
