About the adventure
How to go with the flow when players go off the rails, and break the scaffold of pre-built adventures (without breaking the adventure). In this Game Master workshop you will learn and practice techniques and mechanisms to tie the story back in and maintain cohesive narrative structure when players do the thing they were absolutely *not* supposed to do. Beginner and experienced GMs welcome!

How to prepare
Mics required; webcam optional; dress code is sweatpants. Join our Discord before the workshop at https://bit.ly/glyphtrickgames. When you sign up pop in and say hi, and mention you're participating in the SPG Workshop! A Google Jamboard is used during the workshop. Players without a Google Account can submit contributions to the Discord chat to go on the board! Your feedback is helpful! Please leave feedback after the session. This workshop will be recorded.

I will bring a Master's in Games and Learning, improv experience, and slides available after the wokshop.
Gameplay details
This workshop is part presentation, part roundtable discussion. Players are encouraged to participate, share thoughts, ideas, and experiences, and engage in active conversation with one another. The key takeaway is to come away with new, practical strategies for getting players back on track within the narrative! This wokshop is intended to be accessible to everyone. Please message me if you need captions, TTS, large text, or other software to enable participation. Safety - Expectations and ground rules are established at the start of the workshop. A modified "X" card system is used. Players can make an "X" with their fingers, type "X" in chat, or private message me an "X" if topics begin to stray to unsafe territory.
