The Corruption of Havencrest D&D5e - 3-7 Players - New Players Encouraged Sunday

About the adventure

Havencrest was recently a green vibrant region of the world. The forests were full of life. The harvest was always bountiful. The market was jumping with activity and business was booming. The coastline boasted the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets in the entire world. But... Something foul crept into the Kingdom of Havencrest. Nobody ever noticed, it was so subtle and gradual. The skies are more grey and gloomy. Dark thunderclouds seem to be commonplace. Lightning storms tear into the night. Greasy rain sprinkles to the ground almost every day. Crops just don't seem to be as bountiful. Strange red pulsing vines seem to be slowly growing across the land, up walls of buildings, along the roads and trails, they are just everywhere. There is a general feeling of malaise in the air. Livestock and pets are getting sick and dying. The townsfolk are getting sick. Is there a plague spreading throughout the land? And... some people are disappearing. Some speak in fear of The Culling. What is going on in Havencrest? This campaign is meant to be long term going from level 1 through level 20 and maybe beyond. It is meant for 3-7 Players. If we start with 3, I will continue to allow more Players in until we have 7. As an example, if some Players are level 15 and we need new Players, I might run the newer players separately in the same session or have them act as followers to the older Players. My goal is to always have 7 Players. I should make it clear, this is Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. I have a maximum account at D&D Beyond, so if you don't have the core rulebooks, I can share them through that website. Brand new players are WELCOME and ENCOURAGED to join this game. Game is $20 per Player per session. Lurking is free. Expect a lot of role-playing, not much in the way of puzzles (I hate puzzles) and some combat. Do NOT expect huge tactical battle maps. Combat will be small scale and mostly theater of the mind. I will be describing your setting and current location, it's up to you to map it out if you need to. Racism and Hatred will not be tolerated between the Players. It is NOT ok to express hatred for any group of people in the real world. It IS OK to express hatred and racism toward people in the game world. (meaning, if you hate orcs, that's fine. if you hate humans, you better be ready to role-play that out and take the consequences lol) My main goal here is to run a fun game for the Players, I am not here to "beat the Players" or "win the game". I want to see all of YOU win the game and have fun. Therefore, if a Player is causing problems for us and causing the other Players to not have fun, I will remove a Player from the game. Being a racist or a hater against other people in the real world will cause me to remove a Player from the game. Let's just have fun and leave our politics and religion somewhere else. I run a realistic game, so if you throw tomatoes at the guards, the guards will remember you. If you kill the shopkeeper, trust me the town's legal system will not be forgiving. If you like PvP and you decide to attack another player, I will give you one fair warning to think again. If you insist that you want to attack somebody in your group, you better hope they aren't great friends with your other fellow Players, because I will not stop them from killing you. If you die, you have three options. You can leave the game and just be a silent lurker. You can make a new level 1 character and stay in this campaign. Or, you can make a new character and join one of my other campaigns with a whole new group. This game is adults only, so I am ok with cussing and other adult situations, but let's make sure everybody is comfortable and we will set some limits based on Player's comfort level at our first session.

Additional Details

How to prepare

No webcam necessary, that way everyone can be comfortable when playing. If you want to play while in your pajamas and sipping on your old cereal milk with curlers in your hair, that is fine by me. We will be using microphones.

What I provide

I have the Discord server and D&D Beyond. If you don't have the core rulebooks, I can share them with you through D&D Beyond. So you should have a D&D Beyond account. I am using the Avrae dice bot in the Discord channels, that's how we will roll the dice.

Gameplay details

Lots of role-playing, some combat. Mostly theater of the mind. I will not be using tactical combat maps. Realistic consequences for your actions, so think before you act.

How will character creation work

We begin at level 1 and hopefully make it to level 20 and beyond. I will help you make characters in the Discord server.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
