Redsky - The Shieldwoods Incident a Sci-fi Adventure
Dungeons & Dragons 5e on Discord, Roll20, Theater of the Mind
About the adventure
The next immersive universe is here. Welcome to the science-fantasy world of Redsky. With diverse cultures and an epic history spanning centuries of deep lore, the lands of Dema are hand-crafted for dynamic storytelling and making memories. Lead Sporespawn armies deep underground as a commander of the Hive Halls. Carve through frozen mountain temples as an Archivist searching for Eldertech relics. Set sail with your Wakewalker clan to slay leviathan Deep Ones from the inside out. The greatest tales of The Redsky Cycle are waiting for you to weave with your friends. Redsky replaces magic with technology that is advanced enough it might as well be magic. Redsky is a D&D 5e conversion, so if you are familiar with D&D this system will be very familiar. There are a few key differences, harder healing, social encounters are just as important as combat, and combat can easily turn deadly. This is playtest material so there might be some things that are not perfect. In this adventure the adventurers are hired to investigate by the Solar Legion. What seems like a normal investigation may lead to places unexpected.
How to prepare
You will need a good mic and internet connection. You will need a Discord and Roll20 accounts both are free. If you don't have your own dice to roll there will be digital way to roll them too. It is recommended players browse through the core book, but players can learn as we play.
What I provide
Will be providing the character sheets, the core book and the playtest adventure we will be playing. I will also be providing all Roll20 assets.
While this game is based on D&D 5e some rules are changed and some are removed. Things like social encounter rules have been expanded. When creating your character please be aware that some classes are made to be better at combat then others but are very strong in other areas. There will be a Session Zero for the group to meet and discuss safety and the game. We will be using the Lines and Veils tool, this tool is intended to put limits on the game. Lines are things you as a player don't want to happen at all in the game, hard stop. Veils are things you don't want described and if they happen in game it will just 'fade to black' and then the game will continue. X, N, and O Cards are used to signal during the game without needed to speak up. Stars and Wishes is at the end of a session where players can say what they liked and what they want to change. Game will be rated R at the most depending on the situation. CODE OF CONDUCT - NO Bullying, hazing, or otherwise picking on a fellow character. You are a team and as such will treat each other with respect. - NO Sexual content (sweet talking may be used as a form of persuasion but ONLY with NPCs) - NO Shutting down other players ideas or actions. Each player has a chance to voice their thoughts or intent. If you say "My character will try..." after I determine if the game allows that action, we will then play out the outcome. If you ask the party for their opinion, then that action can be decided upon by the group (in or out of character). There are no wrong answer or suggestions. If during a live game something comes up that is making you uncomfortable, please speak up and the event/action will cease immediately.
