About the adventure
Magic of the Past is an entirely custom campaign built in a custom world setting. This game is designed to be played through by beginners and veteran TTRPG players. This campaign was written by a published author, a GM with decades of experience, and with the collaboration of a prominent TTRPG company. A group of adventurers with a varied past come together to seek out new opportunities at the capital city of i̱theli̱méni̱. But a familiar beginning becomes anything but as dark magics plague our adventurers. As they work to solve one mystery, the powers that be work behind the scenes on machinations that will shake the world to its core. Magic of the Past will force the party through challenging puzzles, strategic combat, and some amazing RP opportunities. Who knows what side the party will chose by the end? As a GM, I tailor the experience for the players. The game will focus on RP, puzzles, combat, or any other facet as the players may prefer. I thrive with players driving the story but am prepared to help provide proper guidance to keep the narrative moving as we have fun finding out what may come from each new twist and turn. Oh, and there will be lots of glory, loot, and leveling along the way too.
How to prepare
A mic will be required. I wouldn't mind a webcam either but no one will be required to have it on. You will need to have a free Roll20 account made. You will need to be able to use discord. You will need to provide a cool image of the character you want to make so I can load it on Roll20. That is it. Oh, and come prepared to have a lot of fun.
What I provide
I will provide everything else. I will have all the digital content ready, I will have copies with all the notes on the rules and mechanics for you, and we will store everything in a custom google sheet that the party and GM will share. Basically, all you need is you and your imagination to make this awesome.
Because the game will be operating with a Beta version of a TTRPG rules set the GM does a lot of preparing to simplify the mechanics and present everything in a fun way that allows the game to flow. In short, I will handle everything I possibly can behind the scenes so my players can have fun and just focus on the cool parts of the rules...making their characters real and really powerful. I believe in open communication and am considered an open door to feedback both before and after each session. My goal is to create a safe and fun environment where we can just enjoy ourselves. I believe everyone deserves respect and I its my one insistence from all those participating. My games will contain mature themes and by using dynamic lighting of Roll20 I hope to create some mild to moderately intense scenes. That is, if I am good at telling a story and creating a mood.

How will character creation work
Characters will be created during Session 0. Because of the nature of the rules set we are using I only ask you come with a character concept. You want to create an archer that can fire arrows that alternate between different elements? Cool. Want to be a mage that warps gravity and shoots rays of raw arcane power? Also cool. Want to be a rogue that has such a innate control over luck that everything seems to go your way? Awesome. The possibilities are endless and over the years we have refined our system so we can properly create custom character content that balances with everything else pretty much on the fly. We will also be learning our system during Session 0. That will take all of an hour. We have gotten good enough at this that we can teach anyone our system in an hour and have you playing immediately. Simple enough to dive right in, complex enough for the truly epic.
