About the adventure

The Coming of Age has arrived. Young Samurai from across Rokugan assemble to impress their Masters in their knowledge of art, poetry and combat. Legend of the Five Rings (L5R) is a fantasy Role Playing game set in the romanticized era of the Samurai, in the fictional world of Rokugan. The systems balances your place in the social order, meeting with powerful lords and nobles, with that of your typical fantasy-adventure fare.

How to prepare

A decent quality microphone is recommended. I also suggest looking at the Core Rule Book to begin to understand the Samurai Code of Honor, the clans, and the dice system the game uses. Roll20 has an add-on that will convert the dice for us.

Gameplay details

Legend of the Five Rings is what the players want it to be. If you're a fan of old Samurai and kung-fu movies, you can expect that, and more. I most often see the black-and-white film "Samurai 7" as a good example of what you will find in L5R. The system places as much focus on the noble courts and the intrigue that surrounds those encounters as it does in combat with bandits and oni.

How will character creation work

Character creation is a game of 20 Questions, and is best done as a group, during session 0.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
