Learn to play with Ghosts of Saltmarsh

About the adventure

I'm going to run newbie and kid friendly games using Ghosts of Saltmarsh starting with the Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh. Open to anyone who wants to play, new player and kid friendly. The setting is Greyhawk, in the tiny port town of Saltmarsh. You've been sent by King Skotti to settle the town with crown loyalists and must make a name for yourselves. I will be providing almost all 5e books on dndbeyond as well as pregenerated characters. We play in FoundryVTT on my own hosted server with music, sound and lighting effects and my passable story telling! I only ask that you commit to being frinedly, having fun and keep it PG-13 as possible.

How to prepare

I have webcam and mic. You can use one or we have built in chat in the VTT program. Whatever you prefer works for me. I alternatively have discord, but I am trying to keep everything in FoundryVTT to keep the number of windows you'll need open to a minimum.

What I provide

I have everything we need to play digitally. I have almost the entire book collection on DNDBeyond, as well as a full color virtual tabletop with all necessary function. If you have custom art for your character, feel free to send it and I'll make your tokens.

Gameplay details

This game will be strictly PG-13. I will not involve any adult situations. I will occasionally describe combat violence. I take direction from the players. If we ned a break, say something, if we want to end early, speak up. If something makes you uncomfortable, we can discuss privately. I will not allow going beyond the PG-13 rule at the table. The levels of roleplay, and combat tactics are up to you, if you prefer a different way, mention it and I'll try to do better.

How will character creation work

I have premade characters and will share a link to dndbeyond with all my content if you prefer your own characters. If you need help, I'll be glad to set aside time for a discord or Zoom or something to assist. We will start with level 1 characters. I will be running the Sinister secret of Saltmarsh part 1 first, and as I prepare more content I may continue the campaign. You can use any method of stat generation you choose on dndbeyond except manual. You may use the stat roller in beyond.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
