About the adventure

The adventurers are heading towards Elturel when disaster strikes the city. The survivors of the disaster need to escape to Balder's gate and need your help to avoid cultists, thieves and opportunists. The session will run with one player so you can have a game. If you have a problem with this book and we can cancel if more players don't arrive in time. Beginner players are welcome and will be looked after. Escape from Elturgard is a one-shot in the Forgotten realm. It is designed as an adventurers guild game, so has a nice mix of exploration, mysteries, social interaction and of course combat. This is a connected series of one-shots. It allows for drop in players at different stages. We are currently at a stage where that works without affecting the story or being difficult to catch up with the story.

How to prepare

You will need a mic, a free roll20 account and a Discord account. No previous experience is necessary. For this campaign we will not use webcams. I will send out the character sheet in advance and you can choose a character on a first come basis.

What I provide

I will provide maps on roll20 and a ton of DND sourcebooks.

Gameplay details

We will check everyone is happy with roll20 and I have already set up the character sheets to make it easy to use. If you are a beginner I will give you access to a range of one page cheat sheets and some suggestions to get you up to speed and having fun quickly. The game itself will feature **an immersive sound track**, enough description to draw you in but not too long to be boring. I use **roll20 maps with dynamic lighting for more atmosphere** with description just before each scene so you can **make intelligent decisions** that can **improve the odds** or go horribly wrong. You just hit everything but you have time to prepare, scout, plan, negotiate or just hit it hard. I will be using ammo tracking, ration management and other tools to make your choices have consequences and heighten the immersion and gameplay.

How will character creation work

Characters will be pre-generated. There is a choice of eight and they can be levelled up. If you want a level 1-3 character I am happy for you to bring it too. The idea is to get started on the one-shot as soon as possible.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
