About the adventure

This is a handmade W40k Module for Dark Heresy 1st Edition. It features a sand-box environment based in the newly discovered Caliximar Reach of the Halo Stars that gets more and more depth as we dive deeper into the campaign. It sees a group of characters from their starting rank to their final one, amidst a shifting, evolving series of story arcs in this homemade setting. The possibilities are quite endless. The campaign needs a party of 4-6 people, and this is Pay to Play, at $10 per player each session. Sessions will typically be 3-5 hours long. The premise of the module involves newly acquired acolytes leaving the Calixus sector from Scintilla, and spending a year in the warp to reach their assigned posts in an impossibly archaic reach of the halo stars. The Caliximar Reach. In charge of the sweeping investigation across this mostly uncharted and lethal stretch of space, is the newly formed Amissici Cabal. The Triumvirate of the Cabal are; Inquisitors Gwendolyn Qway, Vecobo Jans and Cassamaedes. These three individuals have subtly led the newly assigned and inexperienced acolytes together (the party). Upon meeting the shadowy figures in charge of the highly secretive operation, the party is given one of three different assignments. Each sending them to a different world in the Caliximar Reach, each playing out in different ways for the greater story of the module campaign. Whatever the choice, the Acolytes will begin to find themselves in a terrifying investigation to recover a lost artifact at all costs, The Brass Library, made by the Emperor himself. The Amissici Cabal will see itself pitted against technosavage witch-clans, lethal and unknown varieties of xenos beasts, horrors and monstrosities, the Lords Dragon forces of the Lathes, archaic remnants of pre-Horus Heresy Imperials, other factions of the Inquisition and even a lost legion of astartes. Mysteries are endless, secrets unspeakable and power undeniable... all yours for the taking... If they tread to far into the darkness, they may find truly unspeakable things lurking. Will they recover the Brass Library? Or will they too, fall into darkness forevermore...

How to prepare

Mic is required, and webcam is recommended but not needed! I have a good grasp of the rules and have access to all of the books so you do not need to know the rules. Though having experience with them can help for sure. All you need is access to roll20 and discord.

What I provide

I only play on roll20 for ease of access, so that means nothing physical, though if a party finishes an entire campaign I will usually commission some very fancy art for the players to have as a memento of our time together.

Gameplay details

When it comes to safety tools, I am a very flexible person, I've highlighted ones that I have used countless times to great effect. If you're wondering if there are others I might use, ask freely! - Session zero is useful for everyone at the table. We get to finalize characters, integrate everyone's story together and get our first splash of game play together. - I offer multiple bio breaks throughout the game and often a longer 15 minute break for more intense sessions. - Debriefing is my preferred method of getting and giving feedback. I hope to use the Stars and wishes system to magnify feedback in a very positive way!

How will character creation work

We will meet on discord, I'll have a private server space for the party where they can use various channels to discuss. Once we can get in a call together we will go through character creation BEFORE session zero. I might be able to get everyone at the same time but usually its one on one. With session zero being where we finalize everyone's characters together and go over the basics of the campaign.
