About the adventure

Want to get into the World of Darkness / Hunter the Reckoning, but don't know where to start? Is character creation giving you a run for your money? Don't panic. Vampire is a popular, but complicated game, and it helps to have a guide. That's where I come in. In short, Hunter the Reckoning allows each player to custom-make their own werewolf, down to the types of powers, weaknesses, and backstory. With so much to pick from, it can easily become overwhelming, and Session 0s can be a stressful time to browse all of it. During this workshop, you'll get a whole hour uninterrupted to sit down with a storyteller, spitball some ideas, discuss any (or all) mechanics you aren't familiar with, and create a custom character sheet you can take to any H5 Storyteller. We'll discuss the lore of the world, what a Werewolf even is in this setting, and how someone even becomes one. You'll have all the time you need to sort through ideas you enjoy, and my assistance in molding one into a vampire fully prepared for play. This one-shot is fully customizable, and can include brainstorming of various character concepts you might enjoy, creating a character sheet, or a mix of both. Red is a masterful Storyteller! He's been able to tie my character (new player to an existing starting a new chronicle) into the story brilliantly all the while building up the tension of the other storylines and my character's inevitable First Change. His music choices and visual scene-setting in Foundry are excellent as well!

Red is a master storyteller, every game I tuned in on left me sad it was over. He's very good at character interaction and scene work. improvisation has also been a noticed and appreciated thing that Red excels in. I can't sing his praises high enough as a storyteller.

This is the third campaign I have participated in with Redmane as ST. Sessions with him always feel comfortable in the sense that you can be confident you have a voice and will be heard if something crosses a line, or makes you uncomfortable. He regularly checks in with players to make sure we're all doing fine after intense scenes, and has always minded our listed lines and veils. As multiple members of our current VtM campaign are either new players or newly returned (I myself have not played VtM in 3 years so I'm rusty), he's been answering a lot of questions from the party during the first leg of our campaign. I'm thankful he often both answers our questions himself and references the location in the book for us. With my ADHD I certainly appreciate the opportunity to be shown where the info is located in case I need to reference it again later. If you're looking to find a ST who fosters a sense of adventure & mystery in your journey, while also providing the opportunity for laughter and camaraderie OOC- Redmane is your man.

I have roleplayed with Redmane for... years, starting in World of Warcraft and now moving here. Even if the rolls are a little over the top (role-playing in my opinion is better than rollplaying), it is not worth docking a star for. The story moves along at a good clip and most, if not all the players I am in game with are dedicated to the story. There is very little side-bars or OoC interruptions, and rules can be a bit dicey but we all can be hazy on the details.

Great GM, is more focused on story, creativity and enjoyability then the actual rules. Very flexible and friendly with first time players, as well as with vets within the World of Darkness system. Would highly recommend if new to WoD or want a fun and entertaining story to play and make friends with.

We take selective inspiration from history, folklore, and 20th Edition. Minor headcanon is used to fill in blanks left by the book such as aging, genetics, and communication. NPCs and locations are a mix of both custom-built and canon appearances. All necessary information will be provided. 🎲 [π‘πŽπ‹π„ππ‹π€π˜ πŒπ„πƒπˆπ”πŒπ’] We use Foundry VTT for immersion, maps, tokens, character sheets, XP tracking, and more. Discord is used for voice (video optional) and organization. Polls are occasionally used between sessions to check player interest in story progression paths. Dice are rolled through Foundry, and Discord as a backup or physical dice for personal decisions. We use a mix of battle maps and immersive backgrounds for scenes. 🎭 [π’π“πŽπ‘π˜π“π„π‹π‹πˆππ† π’π“π˜π‹π„] Each Chronicle takes an adaptive and multiple-possibility approach. Plot hooks and improv are used to strive for a living, breathing world of adventure, horror, consequence, and reward. Players will be presented with options, their choices recorded, and the outcomes may be positive or negative later. Some disasters can be stopped, others not. More aspects include moderate voice acting, descriptive horror, comedic relief, historical research, and guest stars. Stars and Wishes are used to tweak the campaign roadmap as needed. Choices and outcomes have lasting effects on NPCs, locations, and the world in future campaigns.

Gameplay details

Tabletop Roleplay offers a customizable experience in the genre and world of your choice, and that means taking your interests and limits into account. Below are the safety tools and how we use them each session. ⛑️ [π’π€π…π„π“π˜] Upon signing up, each player receives access to a private character thread between them and Redmane. All Lines and Veils are anonymously added to a pinned post in the Chronicle's discord info channel. During play, players may use virtual safety cards to signal discomfort, text chat to communicate with players, and Discord for private messaging. A reminder of tools, lines, and veils is included at the start of each session. All play is recorded for the safety of cast and crew and accessible only to this Chronicle's current players. β˜• [π‚πŽπŒπ…πŽπ‘π“] Food, drink, etc are all permitted during sessions and players are encouraged to drink water and grab a snack. We take a 15-minute prep period before play to break the ice, chat, troubleshoot equipment, and prepare to get in-character. 10-minute breaks are taken at half-time. There will be gore. There will be physical, spiritual, and personal horror. How will character creation work

World of Darkness games allow players to create their own monsters. Below is all you need to know for character creation including playable options, character creation, joining play, and progression. πŸ“Š [𝟏. π‘π„π•πˆπ„π– πŽππ“πˆπŽππ’] Playable options vary by Chronicle and are listed in the Recruitment Info above.
