Knows the Rules
As one of Ryan's OG D&D players, he's been my DM for the past three years across three different campaign settings (Tomb of Annihilation, Strixhaven and a homebrewed Ancient Greece game) where I've come to absolutely adore D&D as one of my favorite hobbies (or perhaps low key obsession ha). Coming from a background in stage acting, Ryan brings the campaigns to life with his dynamic NPCs using fun accents, quirks and in-depth back stories. The immersion at his table is excellent, always setting the mood with music, supplying concept art for visual aids and using Talespire for 3D battle maps. He also offers an incredibly inclusive table that's great for beginners or anyone that has a hard time "fitting in". I have an anxiety disorder that makes RP very difficult, but Ryan has a way of making me feel comfortable and safe at the table. What sets Ryan apart from other DMs are all the "extras" he provides his players. For example, you can build your own hero forge mini to use in Talespire! He'll work with you to create the perfect homebrew subclass or craft a magic item with your character in mind. He'll effortless weave in components from your backstory that'll have you at the edge of your seat in no time. He has a special way of bringing characters to life and eliciting real emotion that'll keep you wanting more. If fact, Ryan brought a table of five grown men to literal tears after killing off a PC. Now that's immersion! One of the best perks of paying to play in this group is that he gives you free access to all the D&DBeyond content. Like, ALL of it. That alone is worth $1000 alone tbh. After literally HUNDREDS of sessions, I can confidently say he's worth every penny and I'll continue to happily have a seat at his table -- hope to see you there!
Diverse, amazing, and sometimes funny voices/accents for NPCs ✔ Gripping storylines that intertwine NPCs with PCs, and PCs with PCs... sometimes so perfectly that sessions leave you emotionally hooked ✔ A DM that is engaging and will take any player out of their shell ✔ A DM who is consistently GREAT, organized, and well studied ✔ Currently doing 2 completely different campaigns with Ryan and they are both so much fun ❤ The plots and characters are so distinct and he's done a superb job at going above and beyond with all the "little" extras (music and imagery). I would recommend him to ANYONE who is looking for an amazing GM/DM and a ridiculously hooking campaign!
I could write 1000s of good things about Ryan. I playing in one of his campaigns for 2 years. Well over 100+ sessions. He was always a fair and dynamic gm. Always kept the games engaging and fun. Allowed for very real character development. His style of story telling is nothing short of amazing. He has tied so many stories together in ways I could never have come up with. I was brand new to ttrpgs when I started playing in his games. He explains everything so clearly and walks you through the system in a way that makes you fully understand how to play. 1000% would recommend

How to prepare
This is a Voice/Video game so a mic and camera is required. Other than that make sure your computer is capable of running zoom and the rest will be figured out during session 0. No other preparation required.
What I provide
Physical and Digital Dice are both welcome. Other than that, all you will need is a mic, camera, and computer to run the game on. We use Zoom, Roll20 (for maps and visuals), Dnd Beyond (you will have full access to all adventure and source books through content share), and Talespire (a 3D tabletop software we use through Zoom screenshare, no purchase or prior experience with the software is necessary). Everyone will be entitled to one free Hero Forge mini per character that I will import into the Talespire experience so you can really see your character come to life! I run my games with music, visuals, intense combats, voices, commitment to roleplay, a strong attention to the rules as written and fun with the rule of cool when appropriate. Combat can be intense but rewarding. Come out to a free session 0 to chat with me about the game and I can more thoroughly explain my GM style, the game, expectations, and answer any questions you may have :)
Gameplay details
I will hold a free session 0 for a player before they are officially admitted into the game where will officially review the table rules, the adventure content, and all questions can be answered. We will review conduct and ethics at the table as well as in game topics, character creation and story content to ensure all parties are interested and comfortable with the game they are entering into. I have an open door policy if anyone ever has any discomfort with the game, myself, or other players that will remain anonymous and safe between me and the player. I will always do everything I can to respect the players wishes while trying to come to a respectful and discreet resolution to any problems that may arise.

How will character creation work
In the world of Spelljammer, there are many options for races and backgrounds. Many campaign settings are connected through the astral sea. You welcome to make a character with a background from most campaign settings. I am open to 2024 and 2014 built characters (all feats, spells, race, and class choices must be one or the either). I am happy to help with any backstory or mechanical creation needs and will be happy to expand on them in session 0 :)
