Descent into Avernus: The Averniad|GM🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️|
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
A plan fifty years in the making is reaching its culmination, and if the scheme succeeds, all life upon the material realm will burn in the infernal flame of the Nine Hells. Dive deep into the Lower City of Baldur's Gate to uncover a cult sect's ghastly designs, enter the secluded libraries of Candlekeep to discover lost secrets, and board a one-way flight straight down to the fiery pits Hell. This campaign is a heavily modified version of the popular Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition adventure 'Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus' and is open to players both new and old as we will begin at 1st level. Upon embarking on this journey your party will find themselves in the heart of the "Murder Capital of the Sword Coast", the notorious city of Baldur's Gate. It is here you will begin to unravel a tangled web of treachery and assassinations carried out by an old enemy of the Gate: The Dead Three. The further you dig into the entrails the cultists leave in their wake, the more you come to realize that this whole ordeal is something much more sinister. Descend into the bleeding, ashen gulch of the Avernal wastelands, pilot infernal war machines, and burn your path across Hell crushing those who threaten you with stygian steel treads and belching hellfire. Become the Infernal Warlord of your character's most sanguine nightmares, or beat back the darkness and bring everlasting light to the blighted wastes. Whatever you choose, you're in for one Hell of a ride.
Take a trip down to the Nine Hells, every Friday morning @ 9:00 AM EST. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ⚔️Our party is 4th level and made up of: - Human Sorcerer - Goliath Monk - Elf Wizard - Hollyphant Cleric

Penny is awesome! We are 4 session in to a campaign, and she far supersedes what I ever could have expected from a DM. She is very inclusive, and safe, and never misses a beat. I love the voices, and the combat on FoundryVTT was awesome! Loving playing in this campaign, and excited for more to come!
I have been having a blast playing with Penny! She knows the material and has mastered the vtt - and has been so patient with me as I blunder through it. She has made me feel welcome in an established group since my first session, and she as seamlessly integrated another new player as well. Her NPC voices are incredible, too!

How to prepare
Players should prepare by reading the Character Creation Document, creating their character sheets in DNDBeyond via the campaign link, and checking out our FoundryVTT server where they can test out all of the virtual tabletop's features. If you like, feel free to familiarize yourself briefly with some of The Sword Coast's lore, specifically around Baldur's Gate. You will need access to the following: - A desktop PC or laptop. - Discord, headphones, and a working microphone. Webcams encourged. - A reliable internet connection. I have found Edge or Chrome run FoundryVTT well for browser options. - You, and a willingness hop in and roleplay!
What I provide
I will provide you access to our campaign's virtual spaces in DNDBeyond, Discord, and FoundryVTT. As our adventure will be entirely digital, we can travel light on supplies! Please review the list of items above for all necessary tools.

How will character creation work
You will begin this adventure at Level 1. Please use the Character Creation Document (provided to you upon joining the game); it should hopefully answer most character creation questions. There will be a DNDBeyond Campaign Link for these new character sheets to be built in. You do not need to own anything in DNDBeyond; I own all of the content we will use for this session, and it will be shared with you. We can discuss character stories, themes, etc. before the session and during Session Zero. If you have any questions the guide does not answer, please feel free to DM me to discuss.
