About the adventure
Blades in the Dark is a tabletop role-playing game about a crew of daring scoundrels seeking their fortunes on the haunted streets of an industrial-fantasy city. There are heists, chases, occult mysteries, dangerous bargains, bloody skirmishes, and, above all, riches to be had — if you’re bold enough to seize them. You and your fledgling crew must thrive amidst the threats of rival gangs, powerful noble families, vengeful ghosts, the Bluecoats of the city watch, and the siren song of your scoundrel’s own vices. Will you rise to power in the criminal underworld? What are you willing to do to get to the top?
We already have 3 players, but can accept up to three more. We begin on the 11th of January and will play every second and fourth Saturday of each month. I will be happy to walk you through character creation and picking up the rules. Please do not use ChatGPT or similar generative AI programs to create a character: they do not and cannot know the rules and will cheerfully suggest characters that do not work.

How to prepare
You will need a proper computer with a suitably large screen, as Roll20 is not designed for phone screens, their protestations to the contrary. You will want a Discord account as well, as I'll announce game times and ask go/no go through Discord.
What I provide
I will bring a Roll20 Pro account, moody and atmospheric background music, character art by the astonishing Rukafais, a penchant for funny voices and decades of experience preparing to improvise.
Gameplay details
Blades in the Dark is inherently about playing the members of an organized crime syndicate or cult, and therefore you'll be playing morally compromised people by default. I will be debriefing after every session asking what worked, what didn't, and what you're most looking forward to.
