The Order: Monster Slayers - Highly Reviewed One Shot for Beginners and Experienced Players - Online

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot

About the adventure

This game has been discounted from my usual $25 price. Why you ask? Well I need your help. I started with StartPlaying back when it was in beta. When pandemic hit StartPlaying asked me to help run custom games and special events. When pandemic restrictions were lifted I went back to playing in person games and left StartPlaying for a while. I am back but I need your help to help my to raise my hosted game count and add more reviews to my profile. I hope you can help me and we can have an amazing time telling this story together. This is my most popular D&D 5e One-Shot. It is highly reviewed, won some awards and players new and experienced love the module. It is designed for both beginner players in mind but experienced players will love it as well. You are a group of monster hunters known as The Order sent on a mission to retrieve an item so that it does not fall into the wrong hands. You must make your way through a graveyard, crypt and solve a puzzle as each character’s stories unfold and intertwine with each other. The game has carefully designed characters to choose from. It is a one time play (one-shot) designed for 2-4 hours Requires minimum of 4 players but optimized for 6. • Number of Players: 4 – 6 • Length: 2 – 4 Hours • Role Playing: Medium (high by D&D's standards) • Puzzles: Medium • Lethality: Low • Politics: Low • Fantasy: Medium The Characters • Scout – Human Monster Hunter Ranger • Reese Gubber – Human Transmutation Wizard • Imani The Driven – Half-Orc Oath of Vengeance Paladin (option if 5-6 players) • Taylor Urirel – Human Thief Rogue • Sam Kouhrs – Hill Dwarf War Domain Cleric • Storm – High Elf College of Glamour Bard

Erick is an enthusiastic and fun GM. His homebrewed adventure included pre-made characters with unique goals and backstories. He masterfully leverages Foundry VTT to create immersive atmospheres. I'd highly recommend him!

Erick knew everything inside and out: his (very fun) self-written one-shot, all the characters, and all the rules. With that knowledge and confidence, he was able to keep the game moving along in a fun and engaging way. The players who were less familiar with the mechanics got friendly and helpful support, those more familiar got to stretch their creativity, and everything came together for a well-crafted story. Erick also deftly handled a split party--rarely easy to do! All in all a strong recommendation and I would happily play with Erick again.

Erick was a great GM. I am a new player and had a lot of fun in Erick's game. Erick was well-organized, knowledgeable, and very patient with everyone when people had questions or technical difficulties.

Erick is an amazing DM! He had challenging and engaging encounters. His storytelling was great. Each character were well thought out and had interconnecting stories that forced us to interact with each other. It was much more than just rolling for damage the whole time.

How to prepare

Make sure you have a computer with the latest up to date browser from Chrome, Firefox or Edge. Safari unfortunately does not work with Foundry VTT. Make sure your browser has WebGL enabled. A good headphones and microphone is required. A webcam is highly suggested but not required. Foundry does tend to be a video RAM and/or RAM resource hog. For this make sure that you have a integrated GPU to enable hardware acceleration and 8gb of RAM. Must have a display that is no smaller than 1366x768. Most modern computes can do this with maybe an exception of Chromebooks.

What I provide

Upon confirmation I will provide the link to the website online where we will be using Foundry Virtual Tabletop to play the game. The game will have the choice of characters with their character sheets already set up.

Gameplay details

This game is designed to pick up a character sheet and just start playing. Little or no planning for the players. It is designed for beginners and experienced players. There is a mix of a good amount of combat, puzzles and role playing. The story unfolds as each characters interact with the world and each other.
