I got started GMing...
because i thought that I could tell a better story than the one being run for my table at the time. It was 2nd ed. and we had to homebrew everything back then. My GM was new himself and based his game on the game he was playing in as a PC with his cousin. As a result, the story was rather railroady.
My favorite shows/movies are
The Princess Bride, LotR, Black Sails, GoT, and so many more. I love movies, audiobooks, music, and exploration of history, science, nature, and culture. I also love learning new skills.
When I'm not running games I'm...
cooking (and eating), gardening, or otherwise learning new things. I enjoy homesteading, outdoor activities, and great stories. Most of all, I love spending time with my family and friends. If I wasn't me, I probably would be and adventuring Hobbit.
How WyldeSydeProduction@gmail.com runs games
I am a "story first" DM. I enjoy combat, but also enjoy RP, maybe more. I use the Forgotten Realms settings because there is much lore already created and easily looked up online for free. So my players and I can create detailed backstories that really connect to the world and hopefully adds to player immersion. I offer rewards for character detail in the form of Hero points for "in character" recaps, written out descriptions of down time "in character" play, etc.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Quentin Tarantino and Mel Brooks. Perhaps with input from Monty Python and Steven Spielberg.
My games focus on...
player consequences and desires. There are only so many plots and they get used repeatedly. The goal is to challenge the characters and allow the players to make tough decisions that help them connect with their characters, this world and, hopefully, the world they live in as well.
Rules are...
a great base line for action. They are not all encompassing and perfect. In most of my games, their is a moment where a player wants to do something that is not perfectly explained out outlined by a rule or spell. Its these times where we negotiate a way to move forward and it may be RaW.
WyldeSydeProduction@gmail.com's ideal table
I would like to think my table is a laid back, chill, and fun. I put a bit of work into the stories I tell and those that do the best at my tables are the ones who put time and thought into their characters, their party, and their stories. If I wanted to do all the work, I would write a book series. But other's ideas combined with my own plots make for better stories. And the person who comes to the table ready create and play always has a good time.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
storytelling. If you can't wait to see what happens next, we have something in common.
I love it when a player
does things I don't expect. When they solve problems in a way i didn't foresee and challenges me to add depth, it gets me excited.
My table is not the place for...
outside real world politics, religion, fetishes, and rude behavior. I'm not a psychologist, your parent, or THAT kind of DM so dont bring that to my table. What we are, are people who want to play a game and tell a story, have fun, and hopefully become friends who can be supportive and uplifting.
