About me

I love writing unique stories and I find joy in bringing these stories to all kinds of people who just want to share in the wonder that are RPGs. I try to run exclusively unique/homebrew games, but am open to running a module upon request. I also welcome in-person games to those that are near the Southwest Michigan area.

GM Style

I'm an avid rollplayer, and I do well with character voices. I'm adept with combat and do my best to ensure everyone is engaged while also making sure that combat doesn't drag on. I love homebrew rules that add more fun to the game or provide more difficulty for players.

Mike is great with first time players! I had never played before and Mike was amazing at explaining the rules and making me feel comfortable. I had so much fun. Would 110% recommend Mike as a DM for any level player. Also they are a great story teller, I loved the creative and engaging plot

Mike is such a great DM! Their stories were creative and original, and the combat was scaled to match the experience of the players while still offering an exciting challenge! They’re incredibly knowledgeable about the world of DnD, which makes them a great teacher for new players as well. Highly recommend!!

Mike is an amazing dungeon master who does a great job developing intriguing plot lines and encouraging creativity. The games I’ve played with them had a mystery and puzzle component that kept me engaged throughout hours of gameplay with lots of boss fights sprinkled in. They’re also great at creating a variety’s of NPCs and adds lots of personality when roleplaying. I was new to DND when I started playing with Mike and they were extremely welcoming and thoughtful and put lots of effort into teaching me everything I needed to know, and did a great job at it. I loved playing with them and highly recommend :)

Mike was the first DM I ever had and was incredibly helpful in teaching me the rules and creating my first D&D character. They're a very flexible storyteller; building their own vivid settings, working with their players creativity, and easily adapting to whatever surprises come up by using a series of DM tools they developed. They're not above some good goofs, but still keeps things focused and moving. Every game I've played with them has been a great experience and I look forward to whatever wonderful adventure they've cooked up next.

I remember the first time I joined Mike for a game of D&D. I think it was the first more professional game that I had played that wasn't just me and my friends goofing off. So, I was a bit shy when the game first started. However, within the first 10 minutes of the game, Mike had already made me feel a bit more comfortable. I was still a beginner at the time and whenever I had a question (or asked the same question for the 20th time) Mike always greeted me with a positive response. They were willing to explain things I didn't understand in a way that was easy for me to comprehend. It made my time during the game fun, but also a teaching moment whenever I had a question. During the game Mike takes their creativity and runs with it, making for an exciting game with fun characters to interact with! Not to mention when you do talk to characters Mike takes the time to give each one their own unique voice, and I always find it to be funny and interesting. From my own time trying to learn to be a dungeon master, I know a lot of improv is normally done. I normally forget that improv is a thing playing D&D with Mike! Conversations with characters flow so smoothly while still sticking to the story's main plot points, with room for fun banter and silly situations. I was never rushed or pressured when it was my turn during battle scenes, which was another comforting aspect to the game. After the game ends for the day, Mike always gives us a period for questions regarding the story we played through. I would recommend Mike as a dungeon master to anyone, any day. I know I covered a lot of things in this review, but I feel like I could always write more. I'm looking forward to the next game that I go to with him. :)
