I believe TTRPGs are the best games. Ever. Where else can you decide to do ANYTHING as a player and have instant feedback for your actions? Where else can the story be tailored to your unique character? What's not to love? I've been playing D&D for over 15 years (since 2008) and DMing for about 12 of those years (since 2011). I started playing with 2nd edition, and have played each edition that's come out since then, spending most of my time in 5th edition. I also have some experience playing some other systems like Pathfinder, Forged in the Dark, and All Flesh Must Be Eaten. They say that if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. And I'd rather not work, so... I figure I should make a job out of DMing. Seems like a no-brainer.
My games tend to focus on role-play and character development, though combat and exploration are still important parts of my campaigns. I regularly homebrew aspects of my games, whether they be items, monsters, or character-specific features.
