About Toejam Galore
I love tabletop roleplaying games. I love playing them. I love running them. The DM builds the world, the rulebooks give us some structure, the dice introduce some chance, but it's the players that tell the story. They tell a story that only that group can tell. I think that's the best part of this hobby: No two groups I've DM'd or played with ever tell the same stories. We're in a golden age for the tabletop. We're not just nerdy kids on bikes huddled around a table in the basement... we're full-on nerds huddled around the kitchen table or the virtual tabletop telling collaborative stories and playing an awesome game. Our hobby is for everyone now. I DM for my kids and their friends. I DM for my friends and their friends. I DM for friendly strangers. I don't think the DM owns the game. I think my job is to get everyone telling the story only they can tell.

How Toejam Galore runs games
I like to bring a little levity to the table but I think the party needs stakes. I don't like railroads. I think 1s should be hilarious and 20s should be exciting. I like interesting characters with flaws. I believe you should pay for your dump stat. I think Murder Hobos just need a little guidance. I believe the Rules as Written are important to know, that the Rules as Intended are better, but that the Rule of Cool takes precedence. I like every bad idea and reward creativity. And when in doubt, like every good GM, I like to say, "you can certainly try."
