About me

I'm a lifelong fan of D&D, tabletop RPGs, and fantasy stories of all types. My experience with D&D goes back 30 years to 2e, and has continued off-and-on ever since. Most recently, I've spent the last 8 years running (and playing) 5e, while becoming more and more interested in playing and running other systems--especially old-school retro-clones and OSR-inspired games, as well as genre-heavy systems like Blades in the Dark. But, really, I love running and playing games of all shapes and sizes. We all approach the hobby with our own interests and experience levels, and I'm happy to run whatever game my players want, tailored to their specific interests and expectations! SO, if you have plenty of patience for bad puns and an overactive imagination, let's get together and shake some dice!

GM Style

What I love about GMing more than anything is the creativity and improvisation that comes from several different people sitting around a (virtual) table, creating a story together. And while I might not be the best actor in the world, and my character voices may not be perfect, I can do more than enough to foster the kind of immersion and role-play that's necessary for everyone to have a good time. Sure, I can run a tactically interesting, mechanics-heavy combat just fine, but what interests me more is my players finding a creative and spontaneous way to avoid that combat altogether by really engaging with the world that I've presented for them. Fostering that particular kind of synergy between myself and my players is what keeps this hobby exciting, surprising, and humbling for me, and it's what I try to bring to every single game I run.
