About me

Welcome to my profile. My name is Jan and I have been the dungeon master of many groups ever since I started playing in Highschool some 20+ years ago. I will do my best to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone so that we can focus on having as much fun playing as possible. In return, I expect all my players to treat each other with the utmost respect and reserve hostility towards the numerous monsters and villains that I will throw at you during epic campaigns and oneshots. In my campaigns, you can expect a Faerun setting that is influenced by books, films and other creative liberties that I took. The world will develop with your heroes' and my BBEGs' actions and create a living environment to explore and play in. There will always be a session zero, where you can voice your expectations and set boundaries. I will help you to build your character and backstory, if needed. If you never played Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition, I will guide you through the mechanics. I am used to run oneshots in our local game store with new players. We will play over discord. GM style

It is important to me that everyone feels safe and valued at my table, virtual or in person. There will rarely be an encounter that only has a single approach to its solution. Be creative, think, talk or fight your way through my creations. The "Rule of Cool" is sometimes more important than the "Rules as Written". I will do my best to create different voices for different characters, but I am not a professional voice actor. I often overprepare, but don't feel obligated to go into that particular direction if you don't feel like it. I can always find a new place for these things. And most importantly: Have as much fun as possible, tell crazy stories that you want to look back on with joy.
