About me

Greetings, wonderful gamers! My name is Ruben and I have been a huge fan of TTRPGs since I was a kid. I've GM'd since 2009 beginning with D&D 4ED and that led me to absorb everything D&D at the time. As of 2023, I am a GM for Pathfinder 2e, Call of Cthulhu 7ed, Alien, Dungeon Crawl Classics, and Hopefinder. I currently run three in person PF2 games, one Hopefinder game (PF2 hack), a monthly Dungeon Crawl Classics, a monthly Call of Cthuhlu game, and will be starting the new TTRPG Dragonbane. Now I am looking to open new doors and explore opportunities as an online GM. My ultimate reasoning for hosting games is because I wanted to be able to bring people together through gaming. I currenty plan to use Foundry and Forge as my method of connecting to my players. I am a player-friendly GM. I have been a DM/GM for over 14 years who constantly seeks ways to be a better GM. The first group I taught PF2 to has been together playing with me for almost two years. I am quite proud of that accomplishment and have a solid track record with my players. I am also a teacher of the systems I play and emphasize players being an integral part of each game I run. I am patient. I will help you along the way and empower you to be the best player possible. I am a GM that is LGBTQ friendly who encourages all gender identities and orientations to join in my safe and inclusive games. GM style

I am a beginner-friendly GM that teaches as I go. I enjoy involving players' backstories, if provided, and encourage players to role play in a safe place. I am not a professional actor whose voices are Oscar worthy, so do not hold back. Have fun with your voices if you want to! As a GM, I am interested in heroic fantasy (PF2) and grittier fantasy (Call of Cthulhu, DCC etc). I am slowly opening my portfolio to include a wide range of games. If there is something that interests you that you want to try out, please let me know. I know there are many systems yet to be discovered. Rules are important but if a rule is forgotten, I do not allow it to slow the game. I make a ruling and move on. I then make note and research it later. I am not a rules lawyer but I will provide feedback after the session. I also do my best to make combat interesting and allow players to use their environment to enhance their gameplay. I may even surprise you on tactics. Want to swing off the chandelier and hit the enemy? Sure! I also have an openness to explore aspects of the world that appeal to your characters. I am the kind of GM that is available for questions. I am approachable and laid back. You can expect me to be fair and give every player at the table a moment in the spotlight. We are all here to have fun and enjoy the time spent. I take criticism well and learn from it. I am always willing to learn something new and try things. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
