About John-Michael Steele
With 40+ years of DM/GM experience across many genres, I know how to turn a game up to 11 (epic) and make sure we all have a blast. I have run both long (years) and short (1 session) games across a wide variety of systems and decades. My players still talk about in game events after decades have passed, and I strive to make your experience similar. And YES, I have indeed played every single one of the games listed in the "Games Systems" section, laugh all you want. Truth told, there are even a few not listed here on SPG... -I have designed a TTRPG translation to MOORPG (not MMORPG), created dozens of worlds and settings, set up new spins on existing genres, brought 1e/2e/5e together seamlessly in game, happily chosen iconic ambiance to countless games, and most importantly co-created some of the best memories and new friends! THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART of what RPGs are about, in my humble opinion!! -With the advent of this kind of space, I am embarking on sharing my skills with a much wider swath of great folks in the RPG community, and looking forward to all the great feedback which helps keep my existing skills sharp, and to learn new things too. I got started GMing...
Back in the early 80s, sampling just about every RPG on the market at the time for my buddies. They in turns learned new systems and settings as we explored all the great stuff coming out at the time. These formed some of the best and longest lasting friendships I have had the honor of being a part
My favorite system of all Time is
Talislanta is my favorite fantasy system, and Marvel FASERIP for most others..!
When I'm not running games I'm...
I'm working two jobs and playing a game run by my good friends!
How John-Michael Steele runs games
-Style depends upon the players and the game. From Scifi to Grim Fantasy to Horror to Super Heroes, I've run games in systems most folks have not even heard of less experienced. So the real question is, what style of game do YOU want to play? Odds are we can find a combination that we'll have a great time with, and I'll gladly run it. -I am flexible with what happens in game, and making sure players are enjoying the experience. Your actions will have lasting impacts in the game, the world can change depending upon the choices players make. **I love creating great and memorable tales with players!** My players are my first priority, you are the reason we are all here. I have enjoyed heavy role-playing, intense technical combat, and long standing campaigns. Feel free to message me on Discord (" johnmichaelsteele_53281 "}, or use the messaging system here on SPG, especially if you don't see a game you are looking for!! We can likely set up a game to fit your schedule, and bring your friends too!

I am for a vibe that's...
Vibe depends upon the game and players, no doubt. Some times it may even shift based upon the current situation too, vibe is a living breathing thing in my games.
I love it when a player
Completely takes a left turn in the story, and we make it feel completely natural, and then it goes full on epic tale...
I think min/maxing...
Min/maxing is fine when you consider how hyper-focused such PCs are rarely useful outside their chosen area of specialty. Bards are the perfect example of the reverse school of thought, being "jack of all trades" style characters. I'm always able to set up a game where everyone has fun..!
