About me

I am a 42 year old father of three, and have been playing and running games for 30 years - since the last century in fact as my eldest has just pointed out! I cut my roleplaying teeth on Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, and have returned to it periodically, and discovered the World of Darkness at university, and this universe and system has been my firm favourite ever since. I also play and run Star Trek Adventures, and although this is a fairly recent addition to my collection, I have loved Star Trek (and indeed, most Sci-Fi) for most of my life. I take pride in crafting the worlds my games are set in, I try to create a place we can create the story in together. My key NPCs are fleshed out, with consistent responses and I tend to have multiple different plot threads for my players to pull on. I will work with you to create your characters (or I can provide pre-generated ones if required and to weave them into the world as well. I try and ensure everyone gets a turn in the spotlight. I sometimes use written modules, but rarely, as I enjoy crafting the world as much as I do running the game. I intend to run some VTM games and possibly Star Trek. I have access to multiple other systems including Avatar, Dune and DND and am happy to take requests for games.

GM Style

I favour cooperative problem solving over smacking things in the face, although there is absolutely a time and a place for that! I invest time in creating interactive worlds populated with well rounded NPCs for you to write your story in. I prefer collective character creation to ensure everyone is on the same page and will work with you all to do this. I will ensure your characters backstories are relevant to the game, and give everyone a chance to shine, with personal plots and "side quests" as well. I strive to create a welcoming environment, and believe communication is key to achieving an amazing game for all. Consent is key - I don't want anyone feeling uncomfortable at my table.
