About DM Trenton
I've been playing fantasy TTRPGS since I was a kid. Multiple campaigns, numerous one shots, several game systems, and thousands of hours later, here I am, hoping to expand my abilities as a Game Master and eager to share my passion for role play and combat with players new and old. I'm throwing my name into the hat, questing with reckless abandon to be your first, next, or even favorite Master of the Dungeon. With 25 years of acting, writing, and storytelling under my belt, a love for creativity and role playing, and generous-but-not-gratuitous application of the Rule of Cool, all in an effort to make your gameplay as dynamic and fun as possible, I'm ready to start. Care to join me?

I got started GMing...
When friends of mine decided they wanted to expand their RPG experience to include other games--and nobody knew how to run them. I thought, the best way to learn is to do it from the pilot seat. I've never looked back.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Narrating and curating a vibrant world of experience for my toddler.
How DM Trenton runs games
With a background in entertainment and writing, I'm not shy about providing colorful descriptions to build the worlds of the game, nor in lending my voice to create the various voices of the NPCs who inhabit them. That said, as a player myself I understand the draw to action and combat, and I strive to create sessions that fire on all cylinders. My DM portfolio includes one shots and campaigns of glorious variety, both virtually and live at the table --whether you like political intrigue, suspense, and mystery to drive your curiosities over multiple sessions, or streamlined quests to have you panting at a fever pitch for a single one shot, I make every effort to provide diverse experiences for even more diverse players.

My games focus on...
Creating narratively rich worlds and choices that drive the players to make informed decisions and ultimately decide the fate of their universes.
Rules are...
A crucial framework to experiencing games how they were intended. They are the linchpin connecting creative player choice with world-shaping mechanics. All that said, the mind and creativity of the player are what ultimately drive the experience and rules should be used to promote their use.
When it comes to voices
I adopt my years of performance to enhance the experience, without letting them take center stage. When a voice adds to the experience in-game, it belongs--when it adds nothing, it doesn't.
DM Trenton's ideal table
My ideal table is populated by imaginative and cooperative players who lavish story, lean into role play opportunities, and have a love gaming. Your experience at my table will likely include stimulated and scintillated senses, intense suspense, runaway laughter, provocative problem-solving, deep characterization, and induced camaraderie.

I love it when a player
Commits fully to the character they are playing, showing little regard for the brain "above" the table. I also enjoy seeing players work with one another to create rich nuance with their characters' relationships, adding to the life of the experience.
My table is not the place for...
Real world problems. We gather to play. Of course, there is always room for allusion and parallels to reality--they provide a resonant experience, after all. But when the world's weight is heavy, we sit down to lighten the burden for one another. We play.
