About me
Welcome to my world(s)! I'm a forever GM across a multiverse of games and settings. I'm a musician, writer and actor, and also coach others in storytelling and presentation skills. I love the thrill of sharing my creations and bouncing off others' imagination - it inspires me to bring more thrills, suspense and laughter to the (adventuring) party. My gaming sessions are safe spaces, open to all. I mainly use D&D 5e rules and my custom setting (Antalár), which has been growing for many years. My ideal player character is a multi-class Dwarven Bard-Druid-Barbarian-Ranger. My ideal adversary is a Purple Dragon Lich complete with Undead Horde :)
GM Style
I aim to provide a good balance of roleplay, combat, exploration, problems, puzzles and mysteries. I enjoy immersive play with character voices, though my players can approach the game in any way they feel comfortable. I favour creativity and storytelling over the dictates of the dice. I'm flexible and listen to what my players want, though my preference is more towards 'theatre of the mind' with maps and tokens for battles when needed. I always run a Session Zero to set boundaries and set the scene so players know what to expect. I'm a professional educator and happy to play with players across the whole range of experience from beginner to seasoned :)

Having a great time so far! Richard does a wonderful job of painting a picture with words and provides the information for his world in a way that's informative, interactive and not overbearing.

I was new to D&D 5E and Richard was definitely a great DM for immersing me in a intricate, well-designed, and fun Worldscape to conduct adventures in. He made roleplaying interaction with NPCs interesting and fun and the actual adventure had a great storyline, with many possible actions and choices to allow for multiple paths to follow. I will definitely be looking to do more adventuring in Richard's creative campaigns.

First time playing, I absolutely loved it, he makes the characters feel alive by giving them voices, and actually acting them out, nothing is awkward about it and I feel so engaged, one of my favorite GM’s so far!

This Game Master has terrific storytelling skills, I have felt very nice and included in the entire game, I have enjoyed playing my character and this GM helped me to develop him well. Also, this GM has a solid knowledge of the game rules and in this way, you can avoid any misunderstandings that might lead to an in-game dispute.

They created a rich and detailed world to play in. The GM did a great job of brining the world to life with vivid descriptions and embodying the NPCs / creatures. I was relatively new to role playing and found the whole experience fun and engaging. Would be happy to play again.

Richard is a skilled storyteller and world builder, having built his own Fantasy world, Antalar, from scratch. Adventuring in Antalar with Richard as GM is an exciting and immersive experience, full of intrigue, mystery and the odd evil-deed. Richard is a kind and patient GM, willing to spend time coaching newbies and happy to respond to creative moves from experienced players. I recommend Richard’s games without reservation. Have fun!
