About me

As a GM, one thing that I pride myself on is my ability to create atmosphere. I especially enjoy adding in elements of horror and mystery to my games, so if you enjoy Silent Hill you're in the right place! Additionally, I strive to give each player's character an important role-play moment based on their backstory at least once per one-shot/campaign. At the table, the best stories are built together, so I'm always looking to see how I can use your narratives and input to create something that's special for everyone. Whether you're a longtime fan of tabletop games or a newcomer, don't worry! I have experience with tables that had complete novices as well as many veterans at the table. I have experience assisting new players with learning the rules or being more comfortable with role-playing, and am also more than happy to work with you on character creation or other session 0 practices. Most importantly, the thing I value the most is the safety and ease of everyone at the table. Nobody is perfect (including me!) and I want to leave space for making mistakes and being a little awkward sometimes, while ensuring that topics you don't want to include will not be present in our gaming sessions. To this end, all of my players should be ready to fill out a safety checklist upon entering my games. (Usually during a session zero.) Hope to see you there!

GM Style

I enjoy and strive for balanced games between role-play and combat. Of course, different games call for a different combinations of these elements. I have experience with both role-play heavy systems like Call of Cthulhu and crunchier systems like D&D; however, whatever my players favor more as a group is what I'll try to lean more into. My GM skills include: building atmosphere (I especially enjoy striking the right tone with horror and other spooky types of media), I strive to give each player's character an important role-play moment based on their backstory per oneshot/campaign, I have experience with tables that had complete novices as well as veterans at the table and I'm comfortable with assisting new players with learning the rules or being more comfortable with role-playing.
