I became a GM because
I was extremely desperate to play Dungeons and Dragons, yet had no one to GM for me and my friends. I picked up the mantle and became the forever-GM I was prophesied to become.
When I'm not running games I'm...
writing. I aspire to be a game designer, whether that's in the video game space or table top space. I have always enjoyed writing media that others can interact with and I hope to one day turn that into a career.
How Nathan runs games
I like to create atmospheres with high energy and exciting narrative. While I am not very good at voices and role-playing, I work to encourage moments and environments that encourage role-playing among players. I like to run campaigns mechanically like a video game and narratively like a movie.

I prep by
planning out narrative "beats" that I want to incorporate into the story. I then string a web between those beats that allow player freedom to explore the setting while still being able to guide them along the main story-line.
My games focus on...
the players and their involvement with the world around them. I want each player to feel like their choices matter and the consequences of those choices shape and mold the environment around them.
Rules are...
a great resource to use when confusion or disagreements arise, but I don't want rules to halt narrative momentum or player expression.

I love it when a player
