About me

Hello, I'm Ming Lue Tang. Everyone online calls me Ming for short. I have been an avid gamer for most of my life. I started playing Table top games in-person with friends way back in 1993. Eventually I moved onto local game stores where my love for magic the gathering and table top games flourished. I was voracious when consuming material for all sorts of table top content. Many of my fondest experiences were spent behind a game screen directing npcs and building worlds for players to roam around in. I have completed 2 full campaigns one a 4 year long DnD campaign stretching from 3.0 and later converted to 3.5. I also co-wrote and ran a unique Vampire the masquerade campaign also lasting 4 years. I participated In mass play by e-mail games with upwards of 300 players per campaign. This is all to say, I have a genuine love and fascination of collaborative storytelling. My favorite style of table top games are homebrewed sandboxes and open worlds. This could be anything from Mandalorian Jedi in Star Wars d20 systems, Prison planets escapes, Horror games where you get chased down and hunted, or Super hero systems where you are the bad guys. Wherever the players want to take a story I am more than happy to referee them as they make that journey. It is my goal to make sure everyone gets their time in the spot light and allow players to shape the world we are creating together.

GM Style

My style is epic storytelling, from the loneliest gnomes to terrible gods and monsters on power trips. I want the players to feel as if they are in the world we craft together be that modern, science fiction or fantasy settings. Living worlds are my preferred forte. This means I create the entire world and what will happen through various key events in the stories' history without the players. The main pull for storytelling will be how do your oh so important characters change the outcome of events or add to the world. This will require an important session 0 in order to make sure I meet the player's expectation of the flavor for the game. Flavor being the general setting and tone of the session or campaign. I keep my world modular and organized making it easy to understand all the moving parts. This allows for quick responses, and the ability to build entire new sections when players do something that surprises me. I also like to use scoped detail. This is a description style that focuses on the senses and the order a player character would experience them in order to give our setting. Can you see a thing, hear a thing, what does it feel like? I like to adjust combat based on the game moving from more technical to more cinematic when appropriate. If you would like to participate in a custom campaign please join me at discord for more information.
