About Mask Trader

Hello, and welcome all adventurers! I'm Mask Trader, but you can just call me Mask! I'm 25 years old, and for the past 7 years, I've both been a Dungeon Master and a player for some incredible games. I love using Dungeons and Dragons and the rules that come with it as a baseline, but over all, the whole point of D&D is to have a fun, interactive time (that is my motto anyways). A bit about me, I LOVE D&D and telling stories, but I also enjoy getting out into nature and doing archery as well. I enjoy researching other TTRPGs, and of course, collecting masks. I became a GM because

I love D&D, it truly is my greatest passion. I want to experience great storytelling from others and to share wonderful tales! Getting together and having fun is the end goal, and learning along the way is just a fun addition to that!

How Mask Trader runs games

My GM style is to ensure that everyone is having fun above all else. I want to make sure that your experience is enjoyable and memorable. I love fitting in backstories to the plot and learning about characters personalities and quirks as we go. I go by Rule of Cool a lot of the time, but rules do still need to be followed as a baseline. If you want to do something super cool, I won't hold you back from it. I love giving NPCs voices and soul, so if you see me getting into character for certain NPCs, don't be afraid haha! I tend to be high-fantasy for a lot of my games, and although there are silly moments, I try to keep things more serious in regards to roleplay.

I tend to be roleplay heavy, and while I don't push that on my players, I encourage it. I'm quite energetic and very inclusive. Typically the types of players that fit well are those who are engaged, love storytelling, and are committed to the plot.

I think metagaming...

Is good in certain situations, and problematic in others. If you're trying to solve a puzzle, use out of game knowledge to help you or the other players out. If you're using it to gain a clear advantage in, let's say, a fight, please refrain from it.

My table is not the place for...

Bad behaviour. If there's something that makes another player (or me) uncomfortable, please refrain from bringing it up. Additionally, we are all here to tell a story and have fun, please don't take that away from others.
