How Alessa runs games
My style is very roleplay centric! My philosophy is that playing TTRPGs is like playing Adult Dollhouse with Rules! Fun character interactions and relationships are my specialty. Combat will occur, but mathematical balance and dungeon crawling isn't the focus, character conflict and rich description is. I love the NPCs I populate my games with. Whether homebrew or canon characters, I aim to make them vibrant, interesting, and memorable with unique voices and demeanors! My "Dollhouse" that I use is Owlbear Rodeo VTT, a very simple and easy to use virtual tabletop. If it's too much for you, I am more than happy to stream the current layout through my Discord camera! I also use Kenku FM to stream soundscapes to you as we play. I currently run D&D 5E, Star Trek Adventures, FATE Core, Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Magical Kitties Save the Day, Avatar Legends, Honey Heist, Goblin With A Fat Ass, Cypher, Kids on Brooms, Adventure Skeletons, Masks A New Generation, and Tails of Equestria, but this list will be expanding as I acquire more systems! I think metagaming...
has a time and a place. Sometimes we need to guide the narrative to go a particular direction so everyone is involved and playing, but using meta knowledge to teleport into a scene or having an overpowered magical McGuffin appear disrupts the narrative.
