About me
Greetings and salutations! I have been a game master running D&D 5e games since 2017. I want my world and games to feel as real as possible, and I like to make the choices of my players matter. In my games you can expect to feel powerful and powerless, get what you want in terrific and terrifying ways, and explore the murky depths of philosophy, ethics and morality. My inspirations include Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, and Ursula LeGuin. I am able to cater to players of all skill levels and tailor a campaign to better suit the party's preferences for roleplay, politics, combat or exploration. My current players include complete newcomers to TTRPGs as well as life-long veterans. I have a homebrew solar system that you can play in or I'm happy to run one of the official modules. In the past I have run Out of the Abyss, Icewind Dale, Storm King's Thunder and Curse of Strahd.
GM Style
I love roleplay between player characters and NPCs. I can do a few accents and am comfortable doing character voices. I like to create NPCs with depth and realism. When it comes to combat I have run games in many different ways, with one constant being its inclusion in the development of the characters' story. I like to cater my games for the players to ensure fun. Feedback is always welcome as I cannot reliably read minds.

Kev is kind, patient and understanding. He also sets himself a high bar when it comes to verisimilitude and his portrayal of NPC's of monsters and cares a lot about PC's as people first and character sheets second. He's a great collaborator when it comes to creating a character and story you're excited to portray, though he's not going to hold your hand or tell your story for you. If you are comitted to playing the game beyond the numbers and combat loop and want to play with a DM who will respond to your actions and choices in thought out and surprising ways, Kev's the GM for you. If you want to play monster of the week and play a more casual social game with less narrative emphasis, he might not be the GM for you. I've had a really wonderful time playing with him and I think you will too.
I've been a player, in one of Kev's West Marches campaigns for almost a year now. Being new to this style of play when I first joined, I was initially worried about my ability to engage properly with the setting in the right way, but Kev's encouragement and guidance put those nerves at ease and it quickly became something I looked forward to being a part of on a daily basis. The world itself is well built, with a vast variety of political, social, and fantastical plot points for us to explore, ensuring sessions never get old. Each PC feels important in their own way, and there's plenty of freedom for players to create what they want while still having it fit within the setting. Players are encouraged to try new ideas that they might not otherwise try, leading to a fun variety in characters that we've been able to create. Some of these characters have ended up being the one's I've enjoyed playing the most out of any campaign I've been a part of, made possible with Kev's attention to their stories in the background. Overall, I've thoroughly enjoyed having Kev as a DM, and I'd recommend him and his games to anyone of any level of TTRPG experience.
Sir Kevin approaches D&D with a classic foundation of traditional experience; Pulling from tropes of the whimsical and light hearted essence of fun tabletop community and infusing it with creeping shadows, compelling unseen story telling and the progression of character development at the forefront. He focuses on creative world building, unique and tailored experiences for players and their engagement and impact on the world above all else. He drives compelling and well thought out worlds while ensuring players are taking at their own pace and comprehension. Certainly a DM for the beginner but also capable of taking on the most tactical and immersed player looking for a deeply emotional and character role-play focused experience. I have seen him over two years continue to surprise, challenge and reinvent the known into new experiences, interactions unthought of responses to player actions that are interconnected, layered in world logic and reason and above all. He has kept players eagerly coming back every session, built strong communities and promoting talking in servers constantly about their characters, routes and encouraging player to player role-play out of session that has impact in session.
Kev's meticulously crafted homebrew world rekindled my passion for TTRPGs, providing a dynamic space to experiment and develop my roleplaying skills. His engaging storytelling consistently captivates, leaving me eager for more, and I always look forward to immersing myself in each session.
