About me

I'm a lifelong geek, drawn to fantasy, sci-fi and mystery genres. My favourite popular media include The Witcher, LOTR, Star Trek and Sherlock Holmes. As a gamer I love open-world RPGs with countless side stories and limitless freedom. Naturally I was drawn to TTRPGs for the same reasons. I've played D&D 5e weekly since 2019, from either the player and GM seat. I love that TTRPGs encourage creative thinking, problem solving and vulnerability. I think roleplaying can be extremely cathartic! Recently I've also learned to play Star Trek Adventures, and look forward to learning other systems too. Right now I'm most comfortable leading a group of beginner/intermediate players in a game of D&D5e, but hope to gain confidence in STA enough to soon offer that as well. LLAP, Jessie

GM Style

I like roleplaying NPCs and rewarding my player's unique thinking with extra inspiration (no limit). House rules include potion consumption as a bonus action, potion administration as an action. Mandatory session 0 to discuss lines and veils. (My Lines: plots involving racism, slavery, or objectification. My Veils: abuse/trauma unless agreed on by all party members, sexual relationships among party members or with NPCs). Sessions will include a ~5-10 min break every 2 hours. I enjoy RP more than combat, but I also love it when a plan (or lack thereof) comes together. Although I like mysteries, I'm not keen on puzzles since they tend to hold up sessions.
