About me

Hello, I'm JC! I've been playing and running TTRPGs for 13 years now, and I'm on a mission to play as many games, with as many systems, with as many rad people as possible. I'm the Director of Operations at GirlsRunTheseWorlds, an AP studio dedicated to uplifting the voices and status of all women in TTRPGs. In 2022 my work on Lancer: Love In the Time of Mechs was awarded, along with my colleagues, the GameHers award for TTRPG Campaign of the year! I especially love running all-femme tables! GM style

Collaborating with players to build a living world with driven, authentic characters is the truest joy of TTRPGs. My games often take a slower pace, with lots of breathing room for RP and exploration. When I do run combat, I want players to feel challenged, but given room to pull off cool stunts to achieve a hard-won victory. I only run systems I know really well, so I'm confident making fair rulings, and enthused about teaching new players the ropes. Immersion is key, so I don't aim to break off flipping through rulebooks in the heat of battle. Rule of cool is in effect, but the rules of the game should guide play, otherwise we're all just bs'ing in the dark XD Personally, I'm a queer, working parent in my 30s - I know that finding time for games isn't easy, and finding a comfortable place to do so even less so. So my goal is to facilitate both those things for people just like me, and creating a cozy community of likeminded folk :)
