My games focus on...
If I had to choose and in the best order?... 1: Fun (Comedy and Player's Shenanigans) 2: Story (Campaign or one shot) 3: Backstory (You write it and share it, I will use it in our adventure) 4: Teambuilding (Communication) 5: Easter eggs (References or items that are used in our previous games)
Rules are...
Rules are like a foundation. "A strong foundation will weather any storm but a rigid foundation will crumble in the winds of change." Rules can bend or stiffen but it depends on the group and their table settings as a group.
When it comes to voices
While I use voices, I more prioritize in in the phrasing then the changing of my pitch. I lead this example so players don't feel they have to change their voices. The power is in the "Way of the Word" and not the shift in pitch. Changing such voices is welcomed but never a requirement.
Jonathan | The Human DM's ideal table
While I am flexible as a referee, most of my players are of moderate immersion with occasional breaking of it to stay in tune of the reality of the world. A balance, if you will. If you are looking for heavy and I mean "heavy" immersion, then unfortunately my table may not be suitable. I like flexibility when it comes to balancing player's needs. My tables are not focused on "one player" but rather the "one team" as intended. Humbleness is best welcomed.

I think it's a red flag when players...
- Don't stop and listen to the others at the table. - Bringing authority complexes, rather than patience. - Using the "This is how my character acts" card when it is clear that it makes others uncomfortable. - Relying on the official lore as a reason to bash other player's playstyle.
I think metagaming...
In summary, not the greatest. It can be a great tool if the party is stuck and you can work with it. My encouragement is to think about your character in how you can make it comedic. Example: There is a hidden lever but everyone rolled bad. Trip to it, lean on it, put your coat on it and move on.
I think min/maxing...
It ultimately depends on the game and the table. On one hand "weak characters" tell a tale of struggle while "Strong characters" on the hand can tell a classical heroic tale. The better question to ask me about the game is, "Which would I have more fun within this setting and group? To max or no?"
