About me
I've been playing and storytelling for 30+ years, first with some DnD box sets and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I've played or run most systems that have seen the light of a basement lamp. I prefer more player-forward systems that let everyone at the table have a strong say in the narrative, but focused tactical games have their place on the table, too! I've been running games professionally(re:Paid by real humans) for 2 years now, and have a pretty good track record.
GM Style
The goal of the storyteller is to help the players inhabit the events going on around them. I have a high improvisational style with a focus on making the players look cool. I pull from many places, movies, comics, books, and my experience with other storytellers. I tend to have a wide view of settings and try to balance games around the players, not my preconceived notions or 'head canon.' Flavor and theme are more important than where the ring is in 1453 during the reign of Ser Kurlioss the Mighty.

Knows the Rules
One of the things I like a lot about Gabe is his creativity. He's always sprinkling small details that add flavor to any scene. Or when I'm trying to be genre savvy. he surprises me in some way, turning the situation into a twist of some kind. He definitely knows what he's doing, even in the heat of a moment if there's a rules question, he's got a quick answer. Also as a side thing, I appreciate his usage of AI art generation to whip out a picture that's extremely fitting to the situation, as visuals help me a bunch personally.
Gabe is a fantastic GM, he does a great job at incorporating all of the various player skill levels and personality motivations. Our party was a mix of new and very experienced players and our narratives were well crafted and the campaign ran very smoothly. Gabe cares deeply about each individual party member's interests and takes the time to work with players to maximize their enjoyment.
When Gabe is behind the screen, you can expect a well prepared game master there to help everyone tell their story within the context of his story. His grasp of the game rules gives a smooth, keep-the-action-moving, game experience, guided first and foremost by the "zeroth law:" we're all here to have fun. For newcomers to a particular game, he listens closely to the player's character concepts to suggest choices at character creation that will empower the character in those directions, and during the game makes sure the player is aware of the character's available actions, particularly those that line up with the player's vision. He makes the effort to provide immersive descriptions of the scene and NPC's appearances and behavior. He has a terrific ability to transform a humdrum "you inflict XXX damage, killing the creature" sequence into a series of memorable cinematic moments, inspiring everyone at the table to up their game. He takes unexpected choices by the characters in his stride. But he also, gently, keeps every character's performance within what the situation and the rules allow. For multi-session campaigns, he rewards players wanting to flesh out character motivations and back stories with a mutual exploration of possibilities in the context of reasonable bounds determined by the setting. Every time I've gamed at his table, at the end of the session I'll say to myself, "Well. *That* was fun!"
Really great at finding a good balance between "taking the game seriously out of respect for the time of everyone else there" and "understands that we're all here to have fun and some times people have different definitions of fun". Has clear goals in mind with the settings but is very flexible with making the game fun for the players.
