About me

*** PLEASE READ ENTIRE PROFILE *** Greetings fellow seekers of high adventure and/or suspenseful horror! Your search is over. My name is GM Daremo (pronounced ‘Dah-ray-moh’), and I too have been searching for intrepid heroes like you, to collaboratively spin amazing tales with. Tales of whatever genre you prefer! I played my first TTRPG in 1983 (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 1e) and have been hopelessly hooked ever since. In my 40 years of experience with TTRPGs, I have passionately GMed literally thousands of games, and would love to share that experience with you and a group of your friends! I simply love collaborative storytelling and I always do my best to guarantee that my players have the immersive framework they need to let their characters thrive while their stories unfold organically. I provide them with detailed descriptions of the living world they inhabit as well as interesting and complex NPCs, whose words and actions provide assistance, intrigue, and sometimes comic relief, while helping drive the overall narrative of the story. I am an old school, face-to-face, dice, pencil, and paper kind of gamer, but the pandemic introduced me to the whole online VTTRPG platform which has let me continue with my passion even while secluded. I have an extensive library of games of different genres and am willing to customize adventures to meet the desires of my players. Games I run include, Classic AD&D (2e), D&D 5e, Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (Deadlands: The Weird West, Deadlands: Noir, Weird War II, Necessary Evil, and Sprawlrunners), Call of Cthulhu, Pulp Cthulhu, Delta Green, Star Trek Adventures, Alien RPG, World of Darkness, Vampire the Masquerade 5e, Star Wars (5e), Shadowrun (4e & 6e), Pathfinder 2e, and Fallout. Hopefully, there’s something there that floats your boat and we can start gaming soon!

GM style

I am first and foremost a ‘Story Trumps Rules’ kind of gamemaster. I am all about creating epic, cinematic sessions, and I am the epitome of the “Rule of Cool”! In case you are new to gaming and don’t know what the rule of cool is, it simply means that if my players want to try something cool, they can go for it, even if it stretches, or flat-out breaks the rules, or isn't covered by any of the game’s mechanics. Yes, rules are important, but as most RPGs say somewhere in their core rule books, rules are more guidelines than anything and shouldn’t get in the way of having fun with the story. (EXAMPLE: - D&D 5e Dungeon Master’s Guide, Page 4, Paragraph 5; “As a referee, the DM interprets the rules, decides when to abide by them, and when to change them.”). So, if you are a ‘Rules Lawyer’ and get bent out of shape if the game doesn’t follow the RAW, then I’m probably not a good match for you as a Gamemaster. That being said, just because the rule of cool says you can try what you want, it doesn’t mean you will succeed at what you try. As your Gamemaster, l will inform you that all actions have consequences and to remain fair and impartial, in my sessions, an action may have several consequences that could occur, so unless the consequence is cut and dry obvious, I always let the dice decide what consequence happens. To make it more fun for the players though, after I rule on what die roll corresponds to what consequence, the player gets to “Roll their own Doom!” (Insert maniacal laughter…Mwhahaha!) I love GMing TTRPGs, and getting paid for something I’d do for free anyway is a blessing to me, one that I would love to share with my clients. So, as an incentive to return players, I will be offering 5 tiers of 10% discounts that directly correspond to the XP their characters earn! Finally, RPGs offer amazing team building opportunities, so I will be offering group discounts to organizations who offer those types of workshop trainings to their employees. However, on the other side of the coin, sometimes finding other players can be tough, so I offer CUSTOM SOLO ADVENTURES as well. Send me a direct message with what genre and/or game mechanics you want, and I'll create a once in a lifetime adventure just for YOU! Keep in mind, the cost will be a bit higher, but well worth it! Let’s create some amazing stories together, and as always, let’s let the dice decide!
