Greetings! I have been into TTRPGs and game/level design for several years. I've made board games, card games, video games, and I will keep working to incorporate that experience into role playing games. I was introduced to TTRPGs through Pathfinder a couple of years ago and couldn't get enough of it. It's a great way to hang out with friends, and I love the creativity and community these games encourage.
Something I love about TTRPGs is that the game's developer is sitting at the table with their players, which allows for extremely fluid gameplay and scenarios that I couldn't have scripted if I tried. As someone with a game design background, it is liberating to be able to create mechanics and encounters on the fly that adapt to what the players are doing or feeling. It's great to be able to read the room and adjust things accordingly. I try to walk the middle ground between interpreting the rules by the book and allowing flexibility for cool things, and I put work into creating atmosphere with good artwork and music. Personally, I love some tactical Pathfinder combat, some role play heavy 5E, and plenty of things in between. Different campaigns and systems encourage different GM styles, and I do my best to adapt to that.
