Thank you for taking time to read my profile! Before I tell you about me and how much I love Dungeons & Dragons- it is important to start by explaining that I view this game as a way to explore being a new person in a new world and I try to deliver a story-based experience for every player at the table, driven by our collective creativity supported by a ruleset that acts as a guideline. I aim to bring the value of my background as an actor and an imaginative story-teller combined with my ability to use computers to deliver a table-top style game. My service in healthcare supports a belief in patience, and active listening. I'm an avid lover of 80's fantasy movies and tend find that Dark and High Fantasy themes inform my narration and influence the flavor of my worldbuilding. Role-playing and collaborative story building are the primary draw of tabletop RPG games. I run games using theatrically-improvised interactions between the PC's and the NPC's with some use of third-person narration. Combat is a major component of a successful Dungeons and Dragons campaign- but nonviolent approaches to confrontation are of equal reward. I prefer to tailor the rules to fit the understanding of the players. My style of running games is inclusive of playstyles of "Theater of the mind storytellers", "Rules' lawyers and the "Optimancer/min-maxers" alike. Personally, I am 420-friendly, an ally for vulnerable communities. I am a cis BIPoC male-presenting storyteller, writer and actor who has played Dungeons & Dragons since 1986 in 1st Ed/BECMI/2nd Ed and have been playing and DMing 5th Edition regularly since 2015.

GM Style

I invite players of all experience levels. Playing the imaginary personality of your heart's desire is the primary and most important aspect of D&D 5E and the "rule of cool" predominates any other function of the rules. I aim to run games which are 40% role play, 35% combat, 25% exploration/dungeon crawl. My game's focus on interactions between players and NPCs and their relationships as they develop, to create infinite re-playability. Dark Fantasy and High Fantasy are my natural go-to with worlds that involve some limited technology or science fiction aspects. I start campaigns with a long-form session zero which includes character creation and integration, world-weaving, and one-on-one character build/RP coaching, and safety tools and veils/boundaries. Inclusivity, emotional/psychological safety and freedom to speak/act/contribute is key to having fun playing. I provide all assets needed for play and can explain how to download, register and access D&D Beyond, Discord and Owlbear Rodeo. I am very comfortable with improvisational voice acting and developing unique bonds and rivalries for your characters to nurture or exploit. I create unique tokens for all games and curate ambient sound and music to stream. (these may include the use of AI and/or potentially copywritten music or ambient sound which I do not personally own in the interest of immersion.)
