About DMSteve
I am a storyteller at heart. I am a writer and a filmmaker. For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed making stories and sharing them with other people. Dungeons & Dragons offers the unique opportunity to take this sharing a step further and create a cooperative story. My cousin introduced me to D&D when I was 12 years old and I was immediately hooked. On and off (mostly on) for the last four decades I have played in numerous homebrew and published campaigns. For the last ten years, I have also been DMing. So, if you’re any good at math, you’ll know I am in my early 50s. I started with the original box set - back when Elf was a class. I have played every edition except 4th - can you blame me? I have also played other roleplaying games such as Pathfinder, Rifts, Vampire the Masquerade, Top Secret, etc… But I have always been drawn back to D&D. When the pandemic hit, our in-person games shifted to online VTTs. I got very adept at running games in Roll20 but felt it was limited. A few months ago I transitioned to Foundry and have never looked back. As for my DMing style - I think it could be described as “collaborative”. I do not treat the players as adversaries. The goal is for everyone to have fun. I am not a rules lawyer and enjoy when players find creative ways to use their abilities outside-the-box.

As for my DMing style - I think it could be described as “collaborative”. I do not treat the players as adversaries. The goal is for everyone to have fun. I am not a rules lawyer and enjoy when players find creative ways to use their abilities outside-the-box. I like a nice balance between roleplay and combat.
